Other people in other jobs do not EXPECT a tip for them doing their jobs, so why do these people think they deserve a tip for doing theirs??? My husband is a surgeon,
since insurance & medicare keep cutting the amounts he is paid for doing his job, should he expect tips from his patients?? Should I tip the mail man? How about the grocery checker? The Police & Fire Department?
Why just waiters, waitresses, hair stylists, etc. THEY chose the job they have, it should NOT be up to everyone else to suppliment their income.....
I expect nasty answers from people, but that is another reason we don't tip. SURLY attitudes from the waiters & waitresses UNTIL the bill comes.

One time I was very ill in bed, couldn't go anywhere and my brother was at home. I asked him to get me some food from the store. He told me: "Get up, you are o.k. you have a car, and money. Do it yourself."

I have helped him any time, by getting his meds for diabetes driving, and picking up his medication and paying it for myself, and then I have to beg him for $$ he owed me.

I was taught to help family, but my brother is he out of the Q when I need help?

I have a sister who will do anything for you even at the last minute whether to a grocery store, pharmacy or take you to emergency and she'll wait there hours on end if necessary. She'll never say a word, just help you out.

Now, I have a brother who would NEVER help you in any way whether it be to do an errand, or even a few bucks. He'll laugh at your face, and then hang up. He's been like this all his life. When he wants something from you, he'll get mad, cuss, and demean you to the end of time.

I Ask why can there be differences in people of the same family? Will these bad deeds or lack of help haunt them someday?

you being the one gossipped about, how did you hold your ground, head, and did you say anything if necessary.

My Story: One time there was this girl (street girl) that I worked with and she accused me of leaving 3 used sanitary pads next to the toilet and told everyone about it. I never said a word.
She invited me to her wedding in which she was forced to marry because she got pregnant. She invited me, and I politely declined. She told me all about the wedding. Now, I heard she is divorced. So, dear ones, yes, gossippers get their just rewards, too.

I see so many arguments between men & women about that darn toilet seat.

How many of you know that a flushing toilet sprays germs (that means POOP germs) up to 6 feet away or more? It gets all over you and your bathroom, including the toothbrush, soap, curtains....ewwwww. Just curious how many of you knew that.

I bet if everybody knew that, there would be no more arguments. Everyone would put seat AND lid down every time they flushed.

... but you did not have the slightest intention of being rude? Would it be considered too late after the fact if you tried to rectify the situation? Should you just say sorry and leave it at that?

But in reality, they don't give a DAMN about you? My Spanish professor pretends to understand my disability but then goes behind my back & complains that I'm lazy & come to class when I want. Not true. I have medical documents to prove it & she doesn't wanna see it. & then the other students tried to butt in my business & throw my absences in my face & use it against me. I don't owe another student an answer for my absences-I was in the hospital because of a mental health issue & my professor is making my issues worse by being fake & evil.

My co-workers are putting on a baby shower this Sunday for another co-worker. I can't go to the shower because of previous plans and in all honesty I completely forgot about getting a gift to send along with a co-worker, it was the last thing on my mind. I have no time tonight to go look for something because of appointments and tomorrow, I'm in meetings all day including a lunch meeting. Tomorrow would have been the day I passed along the gift because it's the last time I see my co-workers until Monday.

Is it that bad that I will probably not give a gift? The co-worker with the baby and I were not close at all if that makes any difference.

My friend is having a 2nd baby and she asked me for some maternity clothing. I wrapped them up in a nice hat box and presented them to her. We were both excited. She knows I plan to have more babies in the future. I gave her maybe 10 pieces and see her as much as 3 times per week. I haven't seen her wear one thing. That is okay except I'm thinking she didn't like them and I imagine them just sitting there ... should I ask her about them or what? What is the best etiquette here?
It has been a couple of months now just so you know.

Four of us (out of 15) eat no meat at all. Isn't it a bit inconsiderate for the owner to have our Christmas party at a steakhouse? Should we say something?

I've checked the menu and even their salads have meat in them.

Well I live on my own now because I’m older so now I have to do these things myself. I’m slightly worried though but if I don't write it I would be letting people victimise me and push me around which isn’t right. Does anyone remember having to do something like this themselves for the first time?

We are constantly getting sales calls from telemarketers at my job. My boss told me he does not accept these kinds of calls. The problem is that most of the people who call are really rude when they cannot speak with someone and I end up hanging up on them. That only makes it worse. They keep calling back, and it makes me furious!! How can I get them off the phone without making a complete fool of myself in the process? I am sick of being angry the rest of the day because of one rude person! I understand this is their job, but do they have to be rude as well? Don't they know when to quit?

I have to go to an event at my Uncles house and they serve some really gross food.

Not only is the taste so bad it makes you want to gag. Also, the safety of the food is questionable. He is SO cheap that he keeps food much longer than he should.

What can I do?

A very close cousin of mine has started what is expected to be a multi-million dollar company, and he has asked me to be the technical writer for the company. HOWEVER, my cousin has a LONG history of bieng a "big talker" and not coming through. He's gone bankrupt before and he always so sparatic. My sister worked as a receptionist for him and things were always scattered. Paycheques late, working crazy hours, finding out important things at midnight, and so forth. Additionally, I am only a junior but the job would require an intermidiate to senior writer because of the complexity. My cousin says "I'm not bieng confident and I can do it" but I am confident; I simply know that I have not gathered *enough* experience in my 1 year of working to be able to do a good job. I would need help. He says he plans to take me to China and so forth for documenting, but I simply don't want to get involved in this. I am so close to him and don't want to ruin our relationship by working for him.

Is it rude for people to suck their fingers after eating? There is Someone I work with who sometimes eats lunch at the desk and is constantly sucking their fingers. Every time I hear that noise I cringe. I don't know why?!!

My co-worker thinks that since he's been around so long that he doesn't need to offer an explanation .. simply says, I won't be in today.

Could you get away with that at your job?

I was on a call and I said "He won't be back until Monday either" and I pronounced it eyether. Then he had to repeat it as eether as if he were correcting me. Has anyone ever been corrected by a stranger when there are two pronunciation possiblities? Are you guilty of this?

Reason i ask a woman held the door open for me when i was like 30 ft away yesterday causing me to have to rush. When i did not break into a sprint she shot me a nasty look. Never mind the employees upset about heat streaming out on a freezing morning. I say if you are further than 7 ft, the only right thing to do is let the door fall and you can open it yourself.
