I see so many arguments between men & women about that darn toilet seat.
How many of you know that a flushing toilet sprays germs (that means POOP germs) up to 6 feet away or more? It gets all over you and your bathroom, including the toothbrush, soap, curtains....ewwwww. Just curious how many of you knew that.
I bet if everybody knew that, there would be no more arguments. Everyone would put seat AND lid down every time they flushed.

Go to this website if you don't believe me. Don't tell me I don't "make sense".

How right you are and I have posted this statement in here several times. Quit the fuss over if the seat should be up or down and everyone needs to put both down before they flush to keep nasty germs from flying into the air.

you are absolutely right. i close the lid after i go every time i flush. although it won't get RID of the germs, it will definitely stop certain bacterias to travel all around the bathroom. also, you would know this when you see that after a couple months, under the toilet cover, there are definitely signs of mildew/ something growing. it is quite disgusting. i wouldn't have that in the entire bathroom.
for those of you who don't understand how this works, is, if you've ever been to the automatic flushing toilets and it flushes on you while you're still on it, as disgusting as it may sound, i'm sure you've felt perhaps something spray out (i won't say in details) it's unpleasant. if that happens, there are definitely something shooting up the toilet. lol that sounded funny but it's true.
also, i think it's just etiquette to leave the lid down. it looks nicer to walk into a bathroom with a closed lid than to stare down into the toilet... but that's just personal preference. :)

Do you EVER watch Mythbusters? Well, they debunked that myth very quickly, and actually they proved that toilet water is cleaner than the ice you get from restaurants!
Then that theory was tested by students from 8 schools here in Texas and all of then concured that the myth is simply that, a myth and holds no truth whatsoever.
Yes, i have heard that myth before and actually, my toilets sit between a wall and is seperate from the rest of the bathroom and 10 feet from our sink and toothbrushes, i'm just not petty whatsoever to worry about the seat being up and not put down, i have hands, it only takes 1 second to put it down and then i'll wash my hands after.

If it takes a guy very few seconds to placed the lavatory seat down doesn’t it take a lady a similar era of time to experience if the seat is down before squatting? yet women individuals insist on making a political case over the challenge and it supplies them the prospect to have something to nag about for weeks! keep the capacity you take advantage of on nagging and verify for the seat. As for Doodlestuff, if a lady leaves the seat down and the lid up (as you said), isn’t there nonetheless the challenge of pets falling in and how did you paintings contained in the “flushing” and the “fool guy” jab into your gripe? If a lady leaves the lip up notwithstanding the seat down and a guy grapples at nighttime contained in the lavatory and pees on the seat that’s HIS fault because HE didn’t use the coolest experience God gave him to study first! Likewise, all women individuals ought to do is to take 2 seconds and verify before sitting.

The ONLY way to get rid of toilet germs... is with FIRE. Are you going to douse your toilet with gasoline after every flush? I put the seat down so the cat won't ever drink out of it, although our cat FEARS the toilet because she almost drowned in it once.

It seems to me that in order for the germs to be sprayed up like that, the water would also have to spray up the far, because there's no way to seperate them from each other. I don't know where you heard that, but it really makes no sense! As for the up/down argument; my exhusband and I had an agreement that we would just look when we entered the bathroom so that no one was surprised. Solved all of that.

You put the seat down so the cat doesn't fall in, the dog doesn't drink out of it, and the kids don't flush toys and other things in it. Oh yeah--it' s also easier to sit down on a closed lid than an open one.
