Is it rude for people to suck their fingers after eating? There is Someone I work with who sometimes eats lunch at the desk and is constantly sucking their fingers. Every time I hear that noise I cringe. I don't know why?!!

I think it's as rude as smacking your lips when you eat. They should use a napkin.

It isn't rude, but it's gross!!!!

I was sitting behind a huge lady at the theater with long fingernails, and nail polish that was peeling off. Man, she was eating popcorn and sucking her fingers like a pushpop! Grossss!!

yeah that's awful, its the sort of thing a child would do.

I know a really sexy and cultured man but he eats his food as if he's shovelling it in and theres a race on.

The only thing i decided i can really do is avoid eating near him. I find it easier not to watch it.

However it depends on the person themselves and your relationship whether to say something,or not. i think that as you bought it up in here you are hesitant to confront him so id go with that. Accept it- some things just have to be endured.

It is very childish behavior, and rude to boot. Once you're over 5 years old, you don't suck food off your fingers unless you're at home eating ice cream. Try to ignore it.

Yes,
It is very rude to suck or lick the leftovers off your fingers when you eat in public. Your suppose to wipe off your fingers with a napkin. It just looks and sounds icky.

It's actually differ from people to people. In Japan, they drink soup, they would produce a sound to symbolise delicous.

Well... .. Consider the KFC slogan -Finger licking food. He dislikes licking, so he chose another way.
