I am having a shower in a few months and my husband's stepmother wants to throw one for me for their side of the family. I want to have just one shower altogether and someone else has already offered. Someone else turned her down and she was so upset she didn't even bother showing up. She sent her gift with someone else and never talked about it. How do I tell her this other person is doing it for me without making her angry or upset to the point that she doesn't want to come to the other one?

Say a co-worker gets a bit upset and takes it out on you. How do you not get angry and retaliate?
Remember you are at work....
Do you handle it after work? Talk about it then?

There is a young woman is having a commitment ceremony with her partner later this month. This same woman was also a bridesmaid in the wedding of a mutual friend of ours. She went to both phases of the bachelorette party (taking the bride out, and the party at the house later) and did not contribute any money to cover costs. The rest of us has to cover her portion as she was "strapped for cash". She then attended the wedding and did not buy a gift for the couple.

Now she has planned a ceremony for herself at 530pm on a weekday (so it's free) and a "buy-your-own" reception dinner at a local restaurant. Not to mention that she has registered at several upscale home stores for gifts.

Long story short, is it inappropriate to mention these details to her? Or just boycott the ceremony in general? Or should everyone just shut up and let bygones be bygones?

My home ec teacher is moving the Texas to be by her granddaugher and this year she helped me and my friend tremendously by teaching us how to sew and helped finish projects that we should ahve never started (a prom dress and a pirate coat that we started in February and ended this month!) And now she's moving away so that limits the size of what we can give her. I need ideas and that's where you come in! Thanks!

I'm in the computer lab at school, right? And I'm typing up an e-mail message to my mother and this girl sitting behind me shouts out, "Hey!" I look behind me and this ***** stares at me for 15 seconds and says, "You're killin' that keyboard, aren't you?" I'm STILL pissed off about this sh1t!!!!! I understand that I was typing really fast, but I didn't realize that I was pressing the keys TOO loudly and hard! She just basically disrespected me!!!!!!! I just want to get up right now and call her a ***** to her face because I don't appreciate this ***** disrespecting me like that!!!! She could have just said to me, "Excuse me, but you're typing a little bit too loudly. Can you please type a little bit softer?" That would've been better. Why is it that we Black people like to be mean to each other? And I know that Black women are the meanest women when it comes to getting angry, but I DON'T give a F*** because I'm a brotha and I WILL get ugly with ANY female of ANY race!

A co-worker is having his and his twin brothers birthday bash at a mutual friends house and one of the other employees was talking about smoking weed at the party and it put the birthday boy in a frenzy. Would this be considered bad manners? The policy is outside so they wouldnt be smoking it in the house. What so you all think?

My fiancé is going in for a job interview tomorrow and does not want his present company to know about him possibly leaving yet. He planned on calling in sick tomorrow, but what does he say? I know people are going to say... just tell the truth... but in his line of work, that will not work right now.

I recently attended an event in my bf's home town. He is 6'4" and was extremely thin for his height in school. He was a star athelete, but he is 41 now and has a fex extra pounds. He is not obese or anything, he just has that midddle age stomach. He is working on getting it off, but it just offended me when people would comment on his weight. Maybe it was because he was sooo thin in HS,(he weighed about 170, at 6'4") ! But still, if they had commented on a female, it would have been considered rude, so why is it ok tosay something to a man?

How is it in the over-sexed society that we live in, that we can turn on the T.V. ot look up while driving and see not only half naked but barely dressed women all over the place and that is concidered fine and normal. But a new mom can be arrested for something as natural as breastfeeding? When did this become indecent, it's not like I'm whipping it out in public, what's wrong with using a blanket to cover up? Why should I have to take my three week old son into the bathroom everytime he is hungry? Would you be happy eating your lunch or dinner in a public toilet?

I have always tipped hairdressers, whether they owned the shop or not. However, I seem to recall that in the past the correct ettiquette was that one did NOT tip the shop owner. My husband recently had his pay reduced, so I'm looking at ways to cut costs. To tip the owner or not tip the owner....that's the question. If it matters, I live in the South.....Oklahoma

We work at a hospital and he used to be a personal trainer in college. I voiced my opinion about wanting to get toned and he offered to help me after hours. Should I take him up on that offer or is it inappropriate to do this outside of work?

When women stare at some guy they are atrracted to they don't get a bad name for it. If you women don't want me looking at you then stop looking so good then, cover yourself with a blanket....nah, don't do that.

When out in a restaurant or at home is it ok to double dip chips or other foods in the same sauce or dip? I myself have done it for years but my wife says no. What do you all think?

Everytime she goes to the restroom... she announces it! I have to go pee. I don't care!
She takes her teeth out in front of me. We work in a semi-casual/professional setting but not that casual. GROSS!!!
And she's constantly clearing her sinuses. You know the sound I'm talking about. The one that sounds like you're about to hawk a loogey.

I'm going to scream!!!

But the pay & benefits are awesome & the work too easy. I can't quit... I have a 5 year old to raise.

What should I do??

Yesterday, I had to run in the market to get some hot dog and hamburger rolls for my little cousins party. I was in a hurry so I stopped by one of the cashiers and asked them where they were located. And she said to me "I dont know. Why dont you just look at the signs like me and everyone else?" I turned around and walked right out the door. Should I have reported her?
