They really each need their own. If you're short, you can go to Micheals or Hobby Lobby. They have some that you can just pop into your computer and print out. Granted they aren't engraved, but it's better than a xerox copy on the break room BBoard. They're like $14.95 for 50.

I was recently invited to an office worker's wedding and they posted the official notice in the the lunch room/mail room, however, they did make it a little bit more personal by emailing and telling me to my face that I was invited.

only problem is that perhaps you don't know how many will show up. You have to be extremely specific about your details if you post an invitation in the common room (are they allowed a guest, kids, pets???)

Each person/couple/family gets their own invitation. If you've run out of invitations, write them by hand. The idea of pre-printed invitations is a relatively new trend (since 1900.) Before that, all wedding invitations were written by hand with a handwritten reply.

If you're having a formal wedding with a proper reception afterwards, you need to send individual invites. If you're getting married in someone's backyard, then one is acceptable.

That's what people do, but it's not very classy. Any party you invite to a special event like your wedding should receive their own invitation.

anytime we had a big event at my job, they would just make a big poster, or something to that effect that would invite everyone.. save the invites for the family and close friends.. would be a lot cheaper that way

It is preferable to give out individual invitations. It is more personal.

Post it, that is perfectly fine. After you hang it up spread the word that you hope everyone can come, that way they'll feel personally invited.
