i am twenty years old, and when some people look at me they think that i am as young as twelve. i get criticized often for this. i work in retail, but there are times when people dont want my help because they want help from someone who is "older". i dont think that i look that young, but its frustrating to have things like this happen sometimes. any advice?

In the last few days I've has RUDE A** people answer my questions. Things like that's not a question it's a statement, and what does this have to do with this category. I find it to be sooooo rude. It's not that I don't think why is this question here, but I keep it to myself. Check out my questions,

Just a month ago, I bought a Legend of Zelda game for the Wii from this guy on Ebay. Later, I found it didn't work at a certain part and returned it. Before returning it, the guy said that he would reimburse me for the shipping charges ("[if] you want return shipping and [include] the price we will reimburse you for it."). When I went to return it, I had to pay for both the shipping package and the shipping costs which amounted to $13.98. I told him this and yet later he only reimbursed me for $4.00, presumably what he thought was the price of the shipping only. Should he reimburse me for the remainder of the cost or was it my fault to not package it myself?

I received a baby shower invitation, but cannot attend. The shower is for my cousin and We are close, practically sisters. The shower is being held in her home state, which is across the country from where I live (WA State to FL state), So, I will not be able to attend.
I do want to get a gift, if not lots of gifts for her and the baby. I am confused about what to do. I was going to send the gifts directly to her home, but now I am wondering If etiquette says I should send them to the baby shower location? If I send the gifts directly to her home, should I send a card or something else to the baby shower location to acknowldege the fact that I received the invitation but could not attend? When do I send the gifts? Will it be ok to send them after the shower, or should I send them before the shower so that she will have them for the shower... I'm all confused! Any advise or input?

I work in a cabinet shop and my boss seems to be mad at only me and me being the youngest in the shop (32) seems to be a good reason for him to curse at me when I make a mistake. The other day I dropped of some material at a job site and put it where I was told by my immediate supervisor and when I got back to the shop my boss called and started literally cursing me out ( were talkin full blown four Letter words) when I tried to explain to him he said he didnt want to hear it which upset me cause it didnt seem fair that he could curse at me like that without me being able to defend myself or at least give an explanation, then he got in my face pointed his finger and said F%#K You so Isaid it back we cursed at each other I told him I was leaving and he said I didnt have to if I wanted to work I could he wasnt gonna fire me so I stayed thinking it would be different but the next day it was the same thing He works 7 days a week 12 hours a day! my girl is pregnant and the rent is due!

Well I'm part of the tutoring program at my Catholic school. Being a Catholic school, every thing we do at school, we have to come in our uniforms. Like for example, we do tutoring sessions after school and on Saturday from 10-2, and they make us wear our uniforms for this. I guess because we're at school. But now, the tutoring program is starting a new program, where we go to people's houses from 3-5 and 6-8. I though this would be kind of neat, so I said I'd give it a shot. Now the school tells us that we would have to come to the houses in our school uniforms. I thought to myself, why? We're not at school, and we asked if the students we tutor have to be in their uniforms, and they do not. That means on Saturday afternoon and Evening, we have to walk around town going to people's houses in our school uniforms for something we do in our own time to help others. Can they do this? Is this fair?

he thinks he is all that, calls himself Mac daddy, goes around playing his boom-box at work and stares at me like I am an alien from outer space. Oh by the way, the boss thinks he is all that too, (lady boss). he is driving me slowly crazy with his "player" attitude. Any suggestions? I really like my job and everybody else in it.

My daughter is about to turn four and she is having a party. I do not like Barbie Dolls and prefer for her not to have them. All of the family knows my preference, but some of her friends parents do not. Would it be rude to write on the invitation "No Barbies Please". I know that I would not be offended if I received a similar note on an invitation, but wanted some other parents opinions. I don't want to be rude or offensive on the invitation.

Brief explanation..... It's a neighbor of ours. Their daughter graduated high school. Our son and their son as well as their daughter have hung out for 5+ years. We do talk to the parents. On a rare occasion we'll have a drink together at their house or ours. We aren't close, just neighborly. We have been invited to their daughters high school graduation party. We can't make it, but would like to drop off a card and gift. Do I just put cash in the card? What is the appropriate amount? Do I buy her something? Get a gift card for Target or something like that?

Why do people no longer say "you're welcome" ?

I hate when other kids pick on kids who are autistic or mentally disabled. I have seen it done and I was their to back them up to. I just tell the kid picking on them to leave them alone. See who are we to do anything like that. In every autism is a gift. And we should be courteous to kids with that gift because it does not come without reason. Their is a reason for everything. God Bless everybody.

My friend repeats herself alot. She tells me things she told me many times before. She also thinks she knows better. She comments on my clothes when she has no taste at all! I really want to shut her up but don't know how to let her know without sounding rude. She is getting on my nerves!

I got on the bus today and the driver was cleaning his teeth! 10 minutes later when I got off the bus he still had the toothbrush dangling from his mouth.

I think this is pretty strange behavior but if you've had any experiences that you think rival mine I'd love to hear about it! :)

i guess i should first say that i live a very sheltered life. I've been in private schooling since the age of five and have always lived in a "successful" environment, my parents, neighborhood, school, it all revolves around a successfull mentality, basically everything i am exposed to. my family is all doctors and lawyers, everyone has high expectations of life.
For the last year or so, I've been talking to this sort of-friend i know not from my school through AIM, a couple of conversations, less than ten. But afterwards, I feel more... aware, I guess, of how sheltered my life is. It's like, I have basically grown up around people that only act a certain way and though in comparison to some people, I am rather open, when compared to this fellow, i am probably one of the most reserved, uptight little girls in the world.
But, I don't want to be. I don't want to be like this... so I need help, any suggestions on some things to loosen me up a bit...? To make life more interesting?
