To me personally I think eatting together at the dinner table is important. In the mornings we are all in a rush to get to school, work, etc so its not always possible. But dinner together in our home is a must. We get a little chat time and laugh time together and moments like that wont last forever, because soon my kids will be grown and off with families of their own and hopefully eatting dinner together at the table will be something they learned from us. :)

I think eating together as a family is very important. I loved it as a child and esp more now that I am a parent. When I make a meal which with todays busy life isn't every day. But when I do as a family when we actually get to do it means alot to us because we do make a big deal out of it. We do sit at the table, not scattered throughout the house and don't start until everyone is seated. I don't allow the tv or radio on. No disturbances whether it be the phone, the door or whatever. We sit and go around the table with our day and the kids look forward to telling what they've done. (my kids are 4, 12, 14) I don't allow soda for dinner unless we have pizza or taco's for dinner ( i know thats weird ) and we can either have milk or water and we have it in fancy wine glasses, the kids love it. We always do cheers, the kids love that too and our 4 yr old gets to participate with that and we often cheer 5 times or more with each dinner. Doing sort of fun things at dinner without being silly makes for a memorable dinner and the kids look forward to it, most of the time its my favorite part of the day.

Families should spend as much time together as possible and dinner is a great place to meet and discuss the day. Yeah, it's important. My family eats together almost every night. Once a week I work late and can't be there but the rest of the week we are all together. It's a bonding time. Also, eating is a basic human need. Doing it together really does bring the family closer together.

When I was younger and living at home, my family made a point to eat dinner together. We were all busy people. My brother and I were busy with school or other things, and my parents were busy with work. When we came together, we were at a common table with common food. It wasn't just about the food, it was about the fellowship. It was a time to talk about our days and lives. It was a time to laugh and cry and get closer to one another. We never sat down eating different things because it creates division. We wanted to be on the same page, and in a way, the same plate. We didn't think that one should eat separately because, again, it creates division. When I have children, I want that too. In fact, the one thing that I miss about being at home is being able to gather around the same time and eat.

Eating together kind of provided a sense of normalcy for me because it's the one time where everybody is just nice to each other and in my family we fight alot and we don't eat together often so when we do it feels good. I think it is important too because it gives the family a chance to bond a little bit after a hectic day of living their lives. When I have my own family someday I want them to look at dinner time as one of the best parts of teh day and not something they want to avoid so they could play outside longer with their friends.

I think eating together as a family is great! I f gives each other a chance to talk about what went on that day or upcoming interests and events. Also, on the hand sometimes we all can have a crazy schedule due to work, or the kids sports. Sometimes it is not possible to all eat at one time.

Spending time together as a family is very important and good for building a safe, stable, consistancy in children. But also, with todays bad eating habbits, children should be encouraged to eat regular, healthy meals & eating regularly with your family, instead of just take out in front of the tv, is one step closer to that.

I think that it is important to eat together as a family, because it's family time, and it's a very good time to socialize with your family members and see what they've been up to. Sometimes it's O.K. to eat somewhere else or in a different room.

I think it is important to eat together as a family because it builds a stronger family. It almost forces everyone to talk to one another about their day and what might be on their mind, a family forum if you will. Another good thing to do is play family games.

Eating together in a family carries great value. If all of us are free then we eat together if not we wait for everyone to be ready. And why not, why shouldn't we eat together?
