Yes! Let me tell you something. I started dating someone in the 8th grade and he broke up with me 'for whatever reason' our Junior year of high school. We were broken up for almost a year before we decided that we were made for eachother and needed eachother. We are still together and have been married for 8 years! (that is 13 years since we first started dating)
It didn't matter 'why' he broke up with me. The break was the best thing that ever happened to us actually. It helped us realize just how much we cared for eachother.
If you really think someone is 'the one'...there is always room for forgiveness. But...I would say that there is only room for that forgiveness ONCE.

In most cases, you don't try to rekindle something that has ended. Other answerers have said "Never" try to continue the old relationship. You just move on to new opportunities for relationships.
However, there are exceptions to the rule. Never say never. I was at a college reunion, and I ran into a guy I knew who had married a girl from our class. They are now divorced, and my friend is married to his high school sweetheart right now. It took some 20 years for him to get back to his girl from high school, but he did it. They both have teenage children from their first marriages.

'Any reason' is not good enough. You have to be specific. If the break up was due to unavoidable circumstances, I would definitely accept him since my love for him is true, as you say, instead of moping for him and not getting on with anyone else in life...........But if the reason was betrayal from his side and he is coming back on rebound, then it is NO. Because his presence will always remind me of his betrayal and I will be miserable with him......
