he thinks he is all that, calls himself Mac daddy, goes around playing his boom-box at work and stares at me like I am an alien from outer space. Oh by the way, the boss thinks he is all that too, (lady boss). he is driving me slowly crazy with his "player" attitude. Any suggestions? I really like my job and everybody else in it.

This is a person screaming loudly for attention.
You will thwart his attempts by patently ignoring him. If you were to encourage others to do the same, perhaps the boss would not take as much notice of him.
In your interactions, make sure that you request that he communicate in a strictly professional way. You can use the phrase, "Sorry, I don't understand, how would that be said in business terms?"

Regarding the music, tell your supervisor that you fear the constant interruption is affecting your productivity and others. You will see it end FAST.

Good luck!

Well you are going to have to convince her that dispite her liking him he is creating an uncomfortable work place for you. Since he is doing that you are asking her to speak to him and ask him to refrain from playing the boom box so loudly and staring at you. If she doesnt you will have to go over her head and bring to upper management. If she refuses then you have to decide if you are ready for the battle, cause next step is outside the office like the attorney generals office

I don't want to get into trouble here but he is what I call an "attention-whore". These people flip out when they are ignored.

The only problem is that when TOTALLY ignored they tend to get worse in order to get your attention..so throw him some attention sparingly. Good luck, I can't stand people like that.

Where do you work that he can get away with acting like that?

You are either going to have to try to ignore him and not let him interfere with your work or find a new job.

Good luck!

You just can't worry about the other people... What he does, says, does not and can not effect you. Just brush it off... Just another ignorant human being running around.
