I have a co-worker who asks one question after the other; He asks stuff about me which I do not wish to discuss. Private stuff.

Went to Walmart the other day, a man was minding his business, walking in the parking lot, wearing Yankees sports gear - hat, t-shirt.

A punk plump teenage girl viciously said to him, "Yankees suc", he replied without missing a beat, "F@T people suc"!

They went onto to exchange a few more foul words with him ending it with, "Keep it up and I will drill you into the ground"!

Is this what society has become in this day and age?

Is that man justified to retaliate as he did?

At the office, if someone brings in bagels or muffins and offers you one, which you don't want and decline, is that still considered rude and ungrateful??

I work at a bank and have been helping a memeber for the last 3 weeks or so with his transactions. He always waits for me to help him and he is a nice acctrative man. The gift was a large food platter he had delivered. I'm not sure what to put in the note since I will be having everyone sign the card but I want it to be personal.

My question is 2-part. First is it okay to ask a few favorite teachers to her party and more importantly, on the invitation how would you phrase a side note asking for no gifts.
To me, no gifts sounds like no gift but please bring cash. Doesn't it? We don't want either from her teachers.
Thanks in advance for taking the time.
I always choose best answer.

My neighbors are always striping and running around naked in the upper floor bedrooms with the drapes open, I think they know it is easy to see out of my side window. One of the girls has a very impressive body. Is it immoral for me to watch? Is it immoral to take videos of it for my own purposes?

............asking for credit and such.So my friend and I have come up with a solution, tell me what you think of it.
They would put up a sign in the store which would say: CREDIT HAS DIED LAST MONTH, SO PLEASE DON'T ASK FOR HIM.

I sent some gifts to my cousin for her birthday. Her birthday is a few weeks away. I ordered them online early because I wasn't sure how long they would take for her to receive them.

I sent her an e-mail to expect the gifts by last Friday since that's when it said they would be delivered. Both gifts were delivered - one on Thurs and one on Friday. She did not reply to the e-mail.

I also left a message on Friday asking her to please let me know if she received both gifts. She did not call back. I tried to call on Saturday, but did not leave a message.

I don't know if I should just ignore the anger I feel toward her or let her know how hurt and angry I feel that she did not even bother to let me know that she received the gifts.

I have decided to not call her too much because I don't want to seem like I am running after her or too needy. But, I would have appreciated a quick e-mail saying that she did in fact receive the gifts.

I am named David, but in everyday (non working) life everyone calls me Dave. In professional contexts, people tend to call me David even if I sign off emails as Dave. Obviously they feel this is more appropriate.

Is it really so bad to call yourself by the shortened version in business contexts?

You often hear people say that they tip 10% or 20% - I say it too - but why is the tip you give based on the cost of meal?

Its not as if you're partially responsible for reimbursing the waiter/waitress, that a more expensive meal meant more work (not necessarily, anyway) or guaranteed a better service.

Does anyone have any light to shed on this issue?

I work an an actress, and need to spend a lot of time on set waiting between takes. During these times, I like to occupy myself with readying, studying or drawing, but I don't like to chat. This is because chat on set is always the same questions, the same superficial interest in people around you that you don't know, don't want to and will never see again. They don't know you, they don't really care about what you have to say, and neither do you care about them: they just want to pass the time.

How can I keep to myself, and keep to my book, (avoiding the small-talk) without seeming rude?

Eventhough I say exactly what I mean, and I am very clear with my message, I still come across so many people who still don't understand what I'm saying. I sometimes have to give detailed directions on how to complete a task, and I find that many people are just not good at follwing directions, even when it is to their own benefit to do so. Does anyone have this problem communicating with people?
