The responses to this question are remarkable. I don't take offense to the n word and I hear it a lot. All types of kids especially use the word in this Hip Hop generation. It's become a word you call your homie no matter what you look like. Even when I was younger when only Blacks and Racists used the n word I didn't take offense because I knew it didn't represent who I was. Words can only hurt you if you let them.

The funny thing is seeing all these little kids use the word like it's nothing. Do they know the history? No matter what has been done to oppress black people it has failed. I was at a high school graduation that only had about 5 blacks out of 800 grads. The key student speaker who was no where near black began her speech with a call and response rap, "You know this!" So I guess what Ice T said was right, "everybody is a 'n' to a 'n'!" and now they know this as well.

As a 57 year old white male, I have to say that any word that is demeaning to someone offends me. Yes the "N" word offends me. It offends me if it's said by whites and it offends me if it's used by blacks. It doesn't make any difference if it's used in Hip Hop music or said between 2 friends as a greeting. The word is meant to be demeaning to a whole race of people and it's wrong.

Nooo...because my nose is perfect but if you have a snouser it probably would huh. Even though I think your trying to be funny and say nose when you were actually talking about the other n word... But no the other n word does not offend me either. I am black but far from ignorant. I do use the n- word from time to time though but not offensively.

If it said in a malicious and nasty way, then yes, if I heard anyone say it to someone I would be offended. But things are so politically correct these days that you can not say anything in a joke. I would not be offended if it was said in a joke.

To gordowlk6l, what do you mean the word is irrelevant to you!!?? Racism is not just intended for black people. Anybody can be subject to racism!

It doesn`t offend me,it`s simply offensive!Words that ridicule/degrade any race, sex or creed are offensive

What`s the n word to do with nose? You`re a clown!

taking offense at what someone else says is a stupid choice. A spade is a spade, a cookie is a cookie, if it offends, it is because that person chooses to be offended: BUNCHA IMMATURE BABIES.......wwwwaaaaaa wwwwaaaaaaa....now, if the word nose is used with the word booger, it is very offensive......tehetehetehetehe.

Sometimes. I only use the n word when I'm really offended.

Depends who says it. If they have a small nose yes. But. if they have a big one then it is expected, part of the big nose culture..

Yes I find it offensive when black people use it and white people who use it. Are these people on this poll answering the same question. Why are they talking about noses?
