I'm just curious what other people would do, because this happened to me the other day.
I went for lunch at the Spaghetti Factory with my sister and we had a nice, creepy looking waitor about who looked about 19.
He went to go get our food and it took him awhile, and when he came back he reeked of smoke. I was so put off by the smell that I lost my apetite. I used to smoke so the smell doesn't usually make me cringe but it was just nasty. I didn't complain to the manager or anything, I'm not sure why, but I just didn't.

What would your reaction have been?

I'll admit I’ve made mistakes in my spelling & felt negligent when I discovered them after my message was sent. Even though I proof and spell check my writings [especially when posting online] some typos still manage to slip through. Although, I know others are concerned as well about what they write, still it seems many carelessly expose their misspelled words, hence misunderstood messages to the online community every second. As any English educator will tell you, typos turn most people off. I realize for some writers English is not their first language and proper translation is difficult. However, for native English language adults there is no excuse for excessive carelessness in writing. Typos are distracting; readers get caught up in trying to understand the writer’s intended word(s) and forget the message. Believe it or not, most readers will not answer questions laden with misspelled words. Your comments are welcomed.

So I work for a major internet retailer doing customer service. 99% of my day is spent trying to be extra nice to people that haven't got a clue. They don't read things, they skip through pages and then get mad at us. People are so utterly selfish and self centered it's unbelievable. They all want something for free even if the company didn't do anything wrong the individual just didn't read directions or pay attention. There was actually someone that called in mad that an item was shipped and didn't arrive on time because a ups train derailed. She didn't care if people were killed she was just upset that her $10 item wasnt going to arrive on time and she actually wanted to file a complaint with UPS. Does anyone else have a job dealing with some really ridiculous people in the general public and if so does it make you feel embarrassed that people in your own country are that selfish?

What would you think of a married mother of two children who described herself as a milf during a meeting with her employees? She is in her mid thirties and is a supervisor.

She does know the meaning of the word.

I just don't think a married woman of two should bring herself down like that during a meeting with her employees.
Do you think she crossed the line if she is trying to earn her team's respect?

It would be really nice if, when asking questions, people would:
A. use spell checker. B. ask someone for help with grammar. C. write your questions in a form that is structurally understandable.
I am having the hardest time understanding some of these questions. I realize they are not edited. I am just asking that the askers self-edit before they put it on the internet. Thank you all so much.

I'm really worried they'll think that, but I wanted to make cute announcements that talked about what I did this year to send to everyone with my new Senior Portrait and stuff. I'm worried I'm being rude/implying I want money because my mom told me that that's how she feels when people send her grad announcements. I don't know what to do! It seems silly not to send out letters because of that.

I live in a neighborhood, a decent one too that's quite clean and pretty safe each day. The majority of the neighborhood is of a latino, hispanic heritage culture - and it's not that I have an issue with that, it's that they party for days with the music cranked up, their kids running around the street without supervision, and dump their stuff in our backyard [i.e. like beer cans, plates]. Sometimes it's as early as 9 in the morning and I lose sleep.

If you can't move out of the town, at least for the time being, what would be the best way to handle this without looking like a fool? [like opening the windows and playing my music at the same ear-shattering level, lol]

The last time I was at the beach, an enormous, extended family of Mexicans spread out their towel so close to me that I was actually in the shade of their umbrella. The funny thing was, the beach was practically empty. WTF?? They were friendly enough, though. I got so drunk on their Dos Equis I could barely walk home (I live just a block from the beach). What is the best way to score with Mexican chicks?

Our caterer is charging around $16.00 a person. We have had problems wit hher returning calls on at least two occassions. My fiance called her inadvertantly on mothers day (her work cell), which is also my fiance's birthday and she had a poor attitude. On four seperate occasions she has stated that it is customary for a %25 gratuity. On the bill she left an open area and put %18-%25 gratuity. I am typicaly a big tipper a resturants. It is not uncommon to leave a $10.00 for a $30.00 bill. However, I pay for professionalism and service. I am wondering what everyone thinks I should do. I have my pride to think of...Like I stated I am a fair tipper. However, I am a client and feel I have not been treated properly. Please give me your input.

I have a master’s degree in Civil Engineering. My best friend from high school never went to college and works in Construction. He asked me to go to a party with him and a bunch of his friends who I had never met. His friends were all construction workers too. As soon as they found out I was an engineer, they started treating me like dirt. The whole night, every time something came up on TV that they weren’t sure about or didn't understand, they would look at me and say "what do you think BRAINIAC." It isn't just them either. The construction workers who work under me and my colleagues hate our guts. Why do people hate educated people so much?

They are somewhat rough around the edges. I'm not ripping on them, but they aren't the cultured type. Family of 4 with 2 kids. My apartment complex does absolutely nothing about noise complaints and the police in my city do even less (they can't do a thing unless they can hear noise fom 100 feet away outside the complex and the outer walls are pure concrete). We learned this lesson the hard way because we had to move to another apartment in our complex after management refused to do anything about our noisy neighbors. Now the place we moved to is just as bad. Loud music, loud bangs, etc. We are very quiet and peaceful folks. I live with my grandmother. I do expect to hear some noise because i live in an apartment, but nobody should have to hear rude and excessive noise. The walls are like paper. Our lease is up on November 1st. How should I deal with this in the meantime? I am a peaceful guy, but I also have a guitar amp. I've never played dirty like that before though. Suggestions?
