I have been told that I am a bad hugger. When someone hugs me, I have a tendency to do the bare minimum. It weirds me out to squeeze my body up against someone else's for reasons other than romantic intimacy or moments of strong emotion, such as funerals.

I didn't think much of it until my girlfriend mentioned to me after we hooked up. She thought I was not interested in her at first because of the way I hugged when we were just friends. Now I notice other girls give me weird looks afterwards and sometimes make comments as if I think they smell bad or I don't like them or something.

I think some people take hugging too far, honestly. For instance a guy who is attracted to my gf but knows he cannot have her so when he hugs her he gets as much as he can out of it. It doesn't bother me so much as long as she doesn't feel violated. I just think it's kinda lame.

What's wrong with shaking hands or even a high 5? Is a tight squeeze absolutely necessary?

My friend's elderly Italian father asked for a quarter before "giving" him a set of beautiful cooking knives. He couldn't say why-just that it was a tradition. Anyone know why?

The girlfriend of a pretty good friend is hosting her birthday party at a club tonight. Am I obligated to her a gift? And if so, what do I get that won't get lost in the club and how do I ensure it gets to her? My fear is that it'll be put somewhere for "safekeeping" and disappear.

This ruins their total image and if you try to tackfully suggest something they just get mad. But eating with your jaw packed full and then talking, turning up a soup bowl and drinking out of it, holding the fork with their fist, is totally embarassing.

I enjoy having the luxury of walking out my front door and taking two steps into my car. They called the cops but there is no ordinance. So, its my house and since I won't get a ticket, who cares. Why should I have to walk all the way to my driveway when I can park closer. Whatever is more convenient for me without hurting anyone should not be a problem!

Do they not realize that their phones have amplified speakers so they don't need to yell? And do they not realize that I don't want to hear their conversations and want them to shut up? Do people really think we want to hear about their fights with their significant others or their trips to the grocery stores?

Tactics, such as:
--Mentioning 5 items yo the customer that they should take a look at.
--Offering the company credit card once on the floor and then again at the cash register and upon the customer declining, continue to go into the details of the credit card advantages.
--Offering to start a dressing room for a customer with an arm full of clothes.
--Employees who will randomly give you extra items to try on in the dressing room to build on the sale.

Do these things make you comfortable/uncomfortable, deter you from shopping there, or just flat out annoy you?

Thank you for your responses!

I work in a home for the elderly and disabled (non-elderly). I work in the kitchen and I put paxative in all the food. All the nurses were overun and they had to call in more people because there were too many people pooping themselves later. I kinda feel bad now knowing that I took the attention of the nurses when something important could have happened. But I still think its funny. Do you think I was wrong. Not looking to be bashed. Looking for opinions. I think a firm talking to should have been in order, not a suspension without pay, following possible termination.

when I refuse to change my seat so that they can sit with their wife/husband/kid/whatever. I ensure that I book in online or early enough to get the seat that i prefer, but like CLOCKWORK someone will ask me to swop seats with them. The worst is that they are offended when I say I prefer the seat I am in.

I often work from home and my pc is positioned by the window in my living room. I live on a fairly quiet street and if someone walks along the pavement outside my house, they can see me through my window. Its amazing the amount of people that stare in almost as if they are seeing what kind of place i have! ( i hate net curtains or anything that restricts the light into my living room) I also stare out onto the street while im working. I just wondered what everyone thinks...........is it rude to stare into someones house as you pass their window, am i being rude by staring out onto the street? One woman last week actually stopped and pointed in at my sofa and said something to the person she was with, they walked on when they saw me sat here!!

That's what happened to me recently. I've found the mobile phone of a rich person from my school and when I gave it back to him the only thing he said was "thanks". Do you think I should have kept it or not. Personally I think I did the right thing.

I get the late train home every weekend (the commuter) which is always, quite literally, packed; we're stuffed together like sardines with very little room to move even if standing. If you get a seat you're literally hemmed in and have to step over people if you need the toilet at any point- you can't even reach your luggage most of the time.

I give my seat up to ladies if and when I can- but am I excused on a trip such as this, where it is so busy and cramped that to move about is likely to cause problems?

Thanks!

I think this kind of gang up calls are too immature and childish for me to retaliate/comment on directly. From the quality of some answers and thumbs down, you can tell that this is going to be a one sided argument.

Perhaps I can use this post as a reference instead?
