They are just doing their job,
They get an hourly wage, if they don't like it, they can find another job.
If I have to ASK for a refill, they will NEVER get a tip.

Could anyone tell me if they regard flushing after a banging number 2 in a public toilet to be mandatory or is it up to the person making the deposit?

I'm putting an ad about my apartment on a craigslist to find new renter of my apartment and many people sent emails to get appointments to see my room. Today, A guy was going to come by to see my room at 5PM and but he didn't show up so I called him at 530PM and he said sorry and he wants to change it at 8PM then, he again cancelled at 8PM although said sorry many times.

I got upset because at least he could call me more before like 4PM or so. not like after 5PM or 8PM. I was wating for him since 5PM.

Do you get upset by this? I don't wanna be small mineded. What can I do with this feeling?

He's wondering if he should put a little cash in their cards for a gift, but I said a card would be enough. I didn't think $ would be appropriate. Does everyone agree?

For example, a lot of people use the word conversate, when really it should be converse and I am quick to correct someone. I don't do it to be rude, I correct them because I don't want them using a word that doesn't exist. What's your opinion?

My school just had the most epic food fight ever, and the worst part is, the teacher barely did anything to stop it and then blamed everybody on the food fight even though most people didn't participate. So next time it happens I want to be prepared and to not get food all over me.

Do you flush? And risk waking them up. Or leave it? And risk offending them.

A little background: My husband and I have recently decided to get divorced. We have two small children and still live in the same house together. Although we are not at each others' throats, there is plenty of tension around here. His parents live about 4 hours away.
So this evening he wrote me a text message saying that he is picking up his parents from the train station and will be home with them in about an hour. No advance notice, so that is rude enough (I am sure my husband knew ahead of time). But wouldn't you say it is also rather rude of my in-laws to show up for a family visit at such a time? They know we are divorcing; if they want to see their grandchildren, wouldn't it be more acceptable for him to take the kids to see them?
How would you act?

When we fist moved in, we had fantastic neighbors beside and above us. They were both young families, friendly, quiet and generally easy to get along with. However, this month BOTH of our neighbors have moved out and in their place we now have TWO families with teenage children. Both of our new neighbors have a dog and are smokers!! OUR patio/grass is now consistantly littered with cigarette butts and dog crap, the dogs are both yappers and the music is ALWAYS blasting. The son of the family above us even plays the electric guitar...at 11pm. (and his room is directly above our baby's room!)

I am constantly asking them to turn their music/guitars/voices down after the 10pm quiet hour (and very frequently have to file a noise complaint when they don't cooperate) but I am HELPLESS to do anything about the level of noise during the day! Our childen aren't able to sleep or take ther naps!!

We still have 9 months left on our lease, what can we do about this??

I'd rather neither attended, to be honest. They're all such dashed bores. But Milly simply won't have it. She says a party isn't a party these days without some representative element of the New York set. The thing is, if I invite members of both clans, there's bound to be some manner of to-do. The Astors are simply dripping in wealth, but they're all so dreary and grey. And the Hearsts? I suppose their presence would do wonders for one's public standing, but, well.. you know how those newspaper people are. I don't suppose any kind soul might aid a chap enmeshed in such a tedious social conundrum? Chin chin!

This was the first piece of jewelry my bf gave me. Its really pretty, its just NOT me. Its more of a special occasion necklace rather then everyday wear. I know it cost a couple hundred so I don't want to just leave it in my jewelry box and waste it. Before it was given to me he said he got a gift receipt but I don't know if it would be rude to tell him that I would rather get something that I could wear more often. I do not wear pastel colors (don't look good on me) and the necklace has three different pastel sapphires. So even if I do keep it and wear it around him every so often I don't have anything to wear it with. Im I being picky? I just dont want him thinking I love it and get matching earrings, bracelet and ring. What would you do???

The family across the street got their trash pick-up service removed for not paying their bill. Every week, the woman dumps her trash in our can and it overflows. The lid won't shut. My mom will not let me say anything to her because of retaliation. Should I...

1. Take out her bag. Place it against the curb in front of
her house.
2. Call the main office.
3. Confront her anyway. Suggest she take it to the dump or
somewhere else.

Do you think educated men/women should become romantically involved with a partner who is of a lower socioecomic class than themselves.

Why is it that when you're on the phone with your friends, and they decide to put their kids/babies on the phone, your friends don't seem to know when to take the phone away? After more than 15 seconds of being on the phone with a kid, it gets akward and frustrating. Either the kid is yelling gibberish or there is almost dead silence. Sheesh!
