How good is your "GOOD FRIEND"

I'm not sure anymore.
My best friend gets a lot of help from me. I've done tons over the years helping on projects and things at his house. Yet, I've barely gotten any assistance on mine - never an offer to help if I say I'm doing work around the house, really busy, and can't get it all done.
I've helped some people I know with money, and haven't gotten paid back.
I have tried to be as giving as possible with women in my life, and I get little in return.
I feel that I must be building up a big account in Karma, and it's hopefully earning interest, but so far the same people that I am awesome to do nothing in return.

Sigh ... I lost my good, great, BEST friend several years ago. First she had kids, then I moved far away. I haven't really had ANY friends since then. Difficult to get really close friends and a "best friend" in your mid 20's actually.
