That's what happened to me recently. I've found the mobile phone of a rich person from my school and when I gave it back to him the only thing he said was "thanks". Do you think I should have kept it or not. Personally I think I did the right thing.

Of course you did the right thing. It really doesn't matter if you are rich or poor. You have good integrity and that means a lot in a person. You'll be rewarded in time.

You did the right thing. Even though that person is rich and you are not, the phone is still their possession. Keeping the phone would have been like stealing. It was right of you to return it.

How would I know the financial status of the cell phone that I found? But no matter. I would give it back no matter what. It's just because it's the right thing to do.

Keeping it wouldn't have gotten you much more then the cell itself, which isn't worth the stain on your morality. If he's in school I seriously doubt he's rich. His parents are probably the rich ones, which means he's only got nice things by their good graces. Had it been one of their cell phones, they may have rewarded you. Keep being good like this and you will be rewarded in one way or another.

I think you did the right thing also, but that's because I'm too honest also, at least that's what my friends always tell me, but if the person was rich the least they could have done was get you a thank you card, alot of people would have kept it, but i guess when your rich its easy come easy go.

yes, you did the right thing. it would have been nice if the rich person had given you a money reward, but you'll have to settle for the verbal reward. the knowledge that you have a good moral compass will serve you well in the future. besides, i believe that the "law of compensation" will reward you in another area-an unexpected present, "found" money, the inside line on a good summer job, or a concert invitation, for example. good things come to good people.

Good for you! You did the right thing. You have a conscience, and you have integrity. Others would have kept it, I'm sure. Esp. since the owner of the phone is loaded with money.

You did the right thing, pat yourself on your back... and one from me too. And this is from me, a person who picked up a dollar bill and gave it to the cashier, b/c it wasn't mine. I received some interesting answers to my questions. Check it out.

You did the right thing, you just have to put yourself in the other person shoes when being faced with these types of situations. Just think how would I feel even thought you know the other person may not thinks the same as you.

You did the right thing. Honesty is honesty, and stealing is stealing even from a rich person. Keeping a found item when you know the owner is a form of stealing.
