I'm a 20-year old guy who loves oldies. Now, of course, I have lots of favorite modern songs. Other people laugh at me when I tell them I listen to oldies!

PS.

Any of you out there my age who have a liking for oldies?

PPS

By the way, where can I hear a lot of oldies? I never get to hear them on stations now, ya know? 'Cause they're old.

I think waiters/waitresses have become to expectant of tips. In today's society, you are almost REQUIRED to tip to get good service. Why shouldn't a person get good service if they don't tip. I hear alot of people argue that "its how they make a living.' I feel like they chose that job, so everyone else shouldn't be required to contribute to their living. I provide a service to a number of people at my job, but I don't get tips. Most people don't give 15% of whats in their pocket to homeless people on the street with cups or hats. Even though, that is how they make their living. Lets be fair. Why is it that people tip someone, just because they didn't do their job bad?

If you did'nt I just wanted you to stop and realize that if the restaurants paid us a living wage and not the pittance that we get per hour ( $ 2.13 ) then that $ 10.00 burger would be $ 15.00. Bartenders tend to get between $2.13 - $3.13 and hour. the person bagging that togo order which takes 5 times longer to get to you than it you sat at a table and ate inside the restaurant should not be forgotten. When the restaurant is getting slammed in the middle of Saturday we do not answer the phone Hi we are to busy to take your order. so be a little sypathetic when paying for that to go order at 8:00 at night.
T.I.P.S. stands for to insures prompt service. We treat you well so that we can make a living. A server friend of mine actually was told by a female guest " that she feels she does not have to tip at all because the other guests at the table are leaving 20%". She usually pays for 2 other people on her check
with no tip. DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU. KARMA!!!!

Asking someone who you haven't seen in a few years how their mother is (their mother had cancer). Do you say something like "is she cancer free now?" or does that come across as rude.

I read somewhere that you should tip your hairdresser, esthetician, massage therapist, etc. if they are renting out a space in a salon or office, but if the owner of the salon is performing the service, you do not need to tip. Is this correct? What is proper etiquette in this situation?

I am a vegetarian and occassionally people will torment me with statements like, "we'll send the smoke fumes your way or here piggy, piggy." or some other rude comment. I consider this tantamount to telling someone who just miscarried, "oh, well, one less social security payment for me." What is a good response without sinking to their level?

My brother's wife is expecting and I'd like to set up a 529 college savings account for the child with a decent initial amount and an annual birthday deposit. I do not currently have any kids, nor do I really plan to have any, but I'm afraid that my brother will feel the need to do the same for my children, if I do end up starting a family. Its something that would be difficult for him to afford, and I really dont want to make him feel obligated to. Should I try to explain that he's not obligated? Should I not open the account?

I was shocked to discover that all major pizza places charge a delivery fee (over $2 dollars) without making the customer aware of the fee. I was tipping on top of the delivery fee. After I discovered this, I stopped tipping above the fee. I had a delivery person get upset with me because I would not tip above the delivery fee.

First, I am a private school middle school teacher and I wish I made millions of dollars, but I dont. With gas over $3 dollars, and the cost of living so high, where does it end?

Hmm very strange question.

I'm a teenage girl and i work out a few times a week at the gym, but i'm not excessively strong.

Once i gave my male friend a piggy-back at this gig we went to, but it seemed to excite him and i felt him have an erection.

Ever since he keeps bugging me to pick him up all the time. It sounds so strange, and then the other day i saw his history on youtube and all he looks at are videos of women "lifting and carrying" men.

Is this some sort of deluded fantasy? It's a bit disturbing. Is there some sort of name for it?

Any comments would be helpful too :)

For instance, a family member of mine just returned from Iraq and he had a respiratory disease from the chemical in the air over there from the bombs. He was in intensive care for a while, etc. My sister and I were finally like "what do you say when all these people are saying they're sorry to hear about him?" We just don't know how to respond. Thank you just seems wrong.

I mean if I left it clean and nice, and your trash can was only 1/2 or less full? No. I wouldn't overfill it, though.

One time a lady got soooo mad, and I threw a take out meal in her trash, and she yelled at me, and then I asked her would you like for me to throw it out on the street, or on your yard. So people, really, If you throw trash on street or property you will get a $500 fine, and if you throw it in another's can they get pissed what is one to do.

I don't mean to be mean, but at the same time if I don't throw the trash out it could be unhygenic if I store it in my yard, hence rats or opposums, causing the whole neighborhood in turmoil.

My mother asked me to dinner. My husband wants to go too. It's my birthday so I know she wouldn't mine. We have 3 kids so if he goes we all go. I hate to ask my mother to pay for me, my 3 kids, and husband. I would tell my husband to pay but we just spent like $1000 at disney world this past weekend and are now broke. I don't know what I should do.

A friend asked me what kind of chocolates I like and I said I still love the ones I used to eat as a child - mars bars, musketeers, milky way etc, and these are the chocolates I buy when I visit the US. ( I am currently living in Argentina). She said oh, I only buy those for my maid. I was left with nothing to say. What would you have said? Any ideas?

Well, it was a few days ago and I had text him by saying “How was your day. If you don’t feel the same way, then maybe we could be friends.
If you like my ideas then call me. Bye! This is Jamila!"
And he had said “we should just be friends."
What does this mean?
What should I say?
My mom had said friendships are one of the nicest things to have.
I ask had told my friend yesterday about it and he had said "that's a good idea."

Please (nice things), thanks!
