Listen to what you like and ignore those close-minded folks! I sometimes listen online to http://www.live365.com which has loads of online radio stations, try it and see what you can find (their free version has some adds and less stations but I've found plenty to listen to, never felt the need for their paid service).

If you're talking about oldies like the 50's & 60's music, then I suggest checking out the AM dial. It's where I can get my fix when I need it. There are plenty of radio sites out there where you can find channels dedicated to oldies music as well. There are a couple of premium RealPlayer stations that have a good mix.
As for people laughing at you... find some new friends. :-)
Seriously, though, I'm a couple of years older than you but enjoy the music myself. It's what I was raised with, as my dad was a big fan of oldies music; some of my favourite memories are of going camping and listening to nothing but oldies. That's probably where my love of the AM dial comes into play, too, come to think of it!
I wouldn't get "ticked off" because someone laughs because I listen to oldies, I actually feel kind of bad for the because they're missing out on a great chapter in music history.

I love oldies! I am 24 and I have loved them since a child. A lot of times during dinner we will switch the tv over to one of the XM stations for oldies! Much more upbeat and relaxing. Just takes your cares away from the world. I will listen to just about any kind of music there is anyway. I could never understand people that think a person is only suppose to have on favorite genre! Look at what they are missing out on. Oh well, you will be the more well rounded person.

If other people laugh that's them being silly. I wouldn't get upset about it. I have always had a love for older music (I'm a musician at heart) and so I take alot of heat for it until someone decides to sample one of those songs in a new song...then I get my chance to laugh because I was already a fan of the song.
We have an oldies station here on AM and I legally download music so I have it at my disposal at all times.

Let me say this about that! there is nothing wrong with liking oldies, even at the age of 20.most people are so scared to like something that's "not hot" they become followers, only listen to what everyone else listens to,only dress the way everyone else dresses. It's really funny how people run around saying they want to be different but follow only what "everyone else is doing, like guys wearing there pants so big they have to walk like they just took a dump in them just to keep them from hitting the ground.be yourself and enjoy your oldies! listen to lots of different music, try looking-up oldies stations in your area on the Internet,we have WMJI 105.7

I feel old right now. I have to wonder exactly what you mean by "oldies" ... are we talking stuff from 80's or stuff from the 40's?
XM/Sirius is an excellent place to hear this music, among other types.
Once when I was out to dinner with my parents, about twenty years ago, I heard one of "their" songs playing. I knew the words, sang along, they were shocked. The nice thing about old music is that it often is "re-made" again and again. Today's songs are often taken from 30, 40 years ago. Further, in movies, you will often hear these songs. I bet you know the songs ... your friends don't.
Good for you for keeping an open mind and ear.

I too, love oldies but goodies, and I rely on the record store and go there and buy their selections of the fifties, sixties and seventies. Both my children who are in their twenties prefer the older music over the new. The radio station I listened to, stopped playing that type of music because the market isn't there anymore, as it relates to getting the advertising income.
Therefore, you have to buy it to make sure you have those old time favorites.

Listen to whatever you like. Some of the older stuff, sometimes, is better than some contemporary stuff. Of course, you pick and choose from the oldies and contemporary, into your own list of faves. URGE is a good place for picking songs; you can even pick by year.

DOO WOP ROCKS!!!! Try downloading the oldies from Limewire. There is a pretty good selection of music for everyone. And no. Don't get ticked off at your friends. Just tell them they don't know what they're missing.

I would recommend satellite radio. I have XM satellite radio ( which is actually pretty reasonable in price) they have channels dedicated ( AND COMMERCIAL FREE!!!) to music from the 40's, 50's, 60's etc..... They also have "Old Time Radio" which is all of the old radio shows from the 30's through the 50's. It is great!!!! IT is a great way to get your oldies fix!!!
