Well, it was a few days ago and I had text him by saying “How was your day. If you don’t feel the same way, then maybe we could be friends.
If you like my ideas then call me. Bye! This is Jamila!"
And he had said “we should just be friends."
What does this mean?
What should I say?
My mom had said friendships are one of the nicest things to have.
I ask had told my friend yesterday about it and he had said "that's a good idea."

I think you are attracted to this person. He knows how you feel but he doesn't feel the same way. Nevertheless, he doesn't want to lose you and wants to remain friends with you.
Stay friends with him, your feelings for him may die down with time. You both obviously want to be a part of each others lives.

Im confused a little by your typing, when someone says i want to be friends that means back away from them and be friends only. I am completeley confused.

Well, who is he? I think that there's nothing wrong with just being friends. Now if he's a stranger you just met, then I would be careful, but if he's an accuaintance you have dated, then being friends is nice.
