ok, so my best friend graduated last friday already and they wore their tassels on the right side and moved to the left whenever it was time to move them...........well, she came to our Baccalurate (sp?) service last night and thought we were crazy for wearing them on the left to move to the right...but that's how i have always seen it done

what's the deal? how are you SUPPOSED to do it? or does it matter?

I moved my tassel left to right when I graduated...

Maybe she lives in a small town where everyone's related and *everyone* has dyslexia.

i just graduated from college, and my sister from high school, and we both moved our tassels from our right-hand side to the left.

From a university's website for graduates:
Q: On what side of my cap do I wear my tassel?

A: You will wear the tassel on the right side of the cap until the tassel moving event is conducted. At the end of the ceremony you will be directed to move the tassel from the right side to the left side of the cap.

Each university has its own procedure as to the direction of the tassel movement. As for the movement itself, it is done after the conferral of the diploma. Sometimes, the whole class does it simultaneously.

It's always left to right. The right side means you have graduated.
