Lucky you! I would love to visit New Zealand and to have the chance to emigrate there would be a great opportunity.
Fitting in anywhere can be difficult, but less so if you are willing to join in local activities and keep an open mind about whether something is 'fun' or not.
While people will certainly find your origins interesting, keep some information in reserve ~ don't risk becoming a person who says 'When I lived in X we always ..." that can be a little tiring for new friends.
It will also help to find out a little about your new home, so you could look up the local newspapers and tv shows, find out about what sports are played, the natural landscape and other aspects that interest you.
If you can join people in talking about their interests from the start you will be able to relax more quickly :-)
Most important ~ just be yourself, that way the friends you make will be true friends! You are off for a great adventure ... have fun with it :-)
Best wishes and good luck :-)

Just go there and have fun! Don't worry about fitting in or anything, because everyone is going to know you're not from that country so it's silly to try to disappear into the crowd. Being from another country automatically makes you interesting and you'll probably have people coming up to you the first day asking to be friends with you. Just be polite and nice and don't be afraid to ask questions about their culture, because I'm sure they won't mind answering ^_^. My fiance lives in Denmark and I'm moving there in august.

As an fellow immigrant I think you should try to dress and act like you new home country, learn the language and the social culture, blend in. Later when you are assimilated maybe you can share your culture with your new friends. Do ot expect your "new" homeland to adapt to you. Good luck!

moving to new country is difficult as it is i know, but moving to a new culture is also more different i agree. if you want to adapt more to a new lifestyle, just begin the way you are back home, and as you get to know people, you learn from them nd before you know it youll be included in their gatherings.
how to get to know the ppl? well if your moving to new zelend i dont see there being any language problem, you speak english fine as well as you type it i assume, the only thing thatll take you time to get used to is their accent

do a little research on the area you are moving to. look it up online and while you are here post a question in the travel section maybe someone has been where you are moving and can tell you what it is like. happy moving!

That should be the least of your concerns...not many people fortunate enough to have the opportunity to migrate elsewhere
