Control Freak? Maybe - maybe not. Honesty is a great quality. But it can b an asset or a hindrance.
It sound to me like u use your words as weapons and when you don't get the response u r looking for u get angry.
Think about the reaction u r looking for, phrase your response to best elicit that reaction. Pay attention to your tone, your body language, facial expression, and the underlying emotion of your words. Try not to speak out of anger. Take a minute to calm down before u speak out.
No need to b more honest, just less abrasive.

Well you were definitaley right in spilling the drink when your friend insulted your dad, but when it comes to the other examples that is being a bit judgmental. So yes, defend yourself and your family but when it comes to others let them decide who is good or not for themselves. Na your not a control freak

What I see someone who reacted angrily because her friend made an insensitive comment.
Whether what you stated was true, it was the context in which you said it...out of anger. Would you have said this to the person if you were not angry?
That might be why people are having difficulty with perceiving you as honest.

Sometimes people think they're just being honest when their mostly being a b***ch. Sometimes such brutal honesty is unnecessary and uncalled for. Yes, it could be your way of trying to control every situation or a way of showing that you usual get your way. Honesty is not always the best policy.

I don't think spilling drink on her shirt can be considered evidence that you are a control freak or being honest.

probably would have been better not to throw your drink. Thats not honest or dishonest, that just being a *****. Being honest means just that, not being cruel, Like saying
That skirt makes you look fat, as opposed to
I think a different skirt would be more flattering,
Still honest, less bitchiness

This really doesn't sound like honesty to me, it sounds more like making judgements about someone, and then when they piss you off - using it as an excuse to say what you were thinking all along. What gives us the right to say what we think, and do it in a way that causes harm and drama. Humans suck! That's why I am a lonely, old, bitter, spinster...wait that's what you may end up like if you think your "honesty" is justified. Nobody wants to hug a porcupine.

that friend of yours really deserves a shower! but then, by doing that makes you no better than she is... i think you're a very honest person.. you speak-out loud what you really think.. but sometimes, you just have to consider what others might felt when you say something.. think first. there's no harm in making others feel good, it makes you feel good too... there are consequences in whateva you do..

Honesty is too often used as a cover for bad manners. Your friend saying something unpleasant about your dad does not give you the right to say nasty things about her boyfriend behind his or her back. You're not a control freak. You're just a nasty little girl.

I don't think you're a control freak. You just sound like a run-of-the-mill rude, immature brat who 1) makes the common mistake of using honesty as a weapon and 2) can dish it out but can't take it herself.
