There's this middle-age woman in our neighborhood, I don't know where she lives but she walks by our house daily. Well a month ago she charged over to my husband when he was getting into his car to tell him our hedge was obstructing the side walk. When we looked at it later there was one twig-sized branch that was hanging about 4 inches over the sidewalk, so we clipped it. Recently she cornered him as he was doing yard work to complain that a couple leaves from our tree was making the side walk in front of our house slippery. My husband was so annoyed he didn't say a word but just looked at her and shook his head. She's never said a word to me but it starting to feel like she's making a point to approach my husband every time she sees him. The best advice I can come up with is just don't let it get to you. But I realize that's easier said than done. Any polite but clever advice you would give him?

I never did. I always thought of it as bad manners, but still I see many people doing that, men and women, in public transport or public buildings for example.
What do you think of it?
Or do you even do it yourself?

My mother-in-law is martha stewart II, and is very aware of manners and keeps an immaculate house. However when we attend events with my brother-in-law and my sister-in-law these two act like monkeys just let out of the zoo, and she seems completely oblivious to it. They whine and fuss and scream and talk with their mouths open and make rude comments and antagonize my husband and are otherwise just annoying and, quite frankly repulsive. Mind you they are 22 and 24 respectively. How do I handle this? I have ignored it for a long time, but now it is beginning to rub off on my daughter, which I do not appreciate. They also tried to rush my husband's birthday celebration along so as to go out with friends and get drunk, as if their brother is nowhere near as important as their drinking habits. How do I address this?

Do not have room in my home for a baby shower. Thought I would have it at a restaurant in private room. That can be very expensive. How can I tactfully ask family members to pay for their own meal, or should I forget that whole idea?

The other day I went to visit a loved one at the cemetery and this is a very well taken care of famous cemetery. (not bragging here)
BUT, I was walking to my loved ones grave site and there was dog droppings near a headstone! It made me cringe! And then I hear a dog barking loudly at someone's funeral across the hill.
What kind of sick people would bring a dog to the funeral, and let it relieve itself?

This cemetery does not allow dogs or pets inside.

Does it offend you to have to look at 500 pound people waddle around the shopping malls?

I saw one such person sit at a table at a food court and caused the whole table and chair to collapse. It took me and five other people to get the fat lard on his feet again.

And left his/her card and an unfinished transaction. Screen reads: "Would you like another transaction? Yes or No?"

This happened to a CW yesterday. This person said "Yes" and withdrew $200. And then left. Person before was nowhere in sight.

Would you do that?

I give my fiancee's mother a birthday gift and xmas gift every year and as always I never get a gift when my birthday comes around. Should I just stop giving her presents? I did get a xmas gift, even though it was a cheap afterthought in January. Is a gift necessary to soften her attitude towards me as a future son in law?

Hi, I need suggestions. My guy friend has a new house and I have no clue what the decor is. I don't know him very well, but he's really nice and I'm happy to attend his party. So, what is a good, neutral, guy friendly thing? besides beer... Thanks!

I live on the 1st floor of a 2 floor condo. My neighbor's furnace is under me and sounds like a jet taking off when it is running. 2 months ago, I went upstairs and told her that the thing was really loud and annoying and that she should have it looked at. (The thing sounds like it's going to explode.) She said that she has known about it for a while and that she should have it checked and fixed. 2 month's later, she hasn't done a thing about it (Remember, she's on the 2nd floor, so the thing doesn't bother her at all).
Should I go talk to her again or just call the home owner's association? Or is there something else I can do? (Without getting me screwed over some how)

My co-worker is a great person, and is soo nice with me. He's father passed over the weekend. And I don't have money to give in the collection plate. The money that I do have is for my past due bills. What should I do? I don't want to seem rude. Plus my boss was the one that had the idea if the collection plate.

we all turn into some prude and prim old ladies?
I read a question asking what would you do if you could get away with cheating and 90% of the answerers said they wouldn't cheat, yet this is not a reality at least where i live, where girls show their boobs at the slightest insinuation, exiting a car with your legs open wide to show your privates or making out with whomever is part of the daily living. Why the double standard?

I went dinner with my uncle and cousins the other night. This is the second time I have ever met them in my 30 years. The first timewe met my unlce gave me a lot of money. They never establish contact with me; and this second meeting was by my pursuit. I truly want to get to know them as family. I didn't want to seem like I was arranging it because there was an expectation that I'd get some money. He did give me money and I did the whole "fuss" thing where I said "no, i can't take that" even though I ended up doing so. Later a cousin implied that I was rude by doing this; but shouldn't there be a little "back and forth" with anybody when money is offered? Like when friends bicker over who picks up the bill? You should at least act humble and say "no,no" but eventually take it-which I did and was thankful for. What's the call? I always think taking a gift is proper and rude to not, but is putting up a little front also rude?
