My hairdresser just gave birth to a baby boy and I want to send her a card. Is it appropriate to sign it this way:

Your friend and customer, Mellisa

or should i omitt the "customer" part??

Mellisa-

Your signature looks fine.
You could also sign it "Your friendly client" or "Your friend and client"

You could leave off the "customer" part-- she already knows that! :)

Definitely omit the "customer" part. The card is a friendly gesture, not a business correspondence. Just put "your friend, Mellisa Smith" (in case she knows lots of Mellisas), or "wishing you and your baby all the best, Mellisa".

If you care enough about her to send a card, forget about the customer part.

How about:

Warmest Congratulations, Mellisa

I would omit the customer part----I mean, she knows WHO you are, you don't have to identify yourself further. But there is nothing tacky about it either way.
