alrighty then,
my school is holding a speech contest where every single student has to participate in my grade level. we have to write a persuasive speech.

i chose to do mine on global warming.
I am for it and say it is happeneing now but part of the speech requirements is to have the opinion of people against it.

so what i am asking for help on is there anyone who is against it and say no its not happening. if so can you tell me your reasons for it and recomend a good site that has why people say no.

i haven't been really able to find a opposing site on it.

help GREATLY appreciated.

thanks so much

Well, we've been only recording temperatures for the past... 130 years maybe? How do we know we aren't simply going through a multi-century geological alteration cycle?

Like the girl before, I just want to point out that you can't say you are "for" or "against" global warming. However, you can say that you believe it is happening because of man's actions (pollution) or that you believe it is a natural process (not sure "process" is the right word, though - I'm not English), therefore human beings are not responsible and there's nothing we can do about it.

Basically, I've given you the main reason why people believe human beings are not responsible for it. That being said, it would be really difficult to prove nowadays that human beings have nothing to do with that.

Good luck with your speech: it will probably be difficult to find good arguments for the other (the industrialists?!) side!

PS: you should post that question in the "science" and the "environment" sections.

You got a tough one. Most serious scientists admit that global warming is a fact although there is much disagreement about what to do about it or for that matter whether we CAN do anything about it.

In general the combustion of fossil fuels contributes both ways. Pollution may block some of the light from the surface of the earth slowing down th ultimate result of increasing CO2 and other "greenhouse" gases.

how can you be for Global warming? I want to help but I am confused on what you are trying to write about.
Global warming is something that is happening to our planet caused by the products that human beings use & how we dispose of them. Its a very bad thing so I'm not sure how you can be for it. DO you mean that you are for the research on global warming & how we can stop it!?
