Personally:

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.

I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.

I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other peoples' gardens
And learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickles for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked

My good friend, who happens to be in a very high position at my job always has her thong showing. She's in sales and is never in the office. When she comes in the men go crazy, but lately they've been demeaning her. How do I get her to stop. It's not professional and I know she has to know this because she's very smart.

I don't like how friendly she is with him. Well, my son's birthday is coming up, I asked her if my boyfriend could get some party platters half off for the party, and she said she would donate them (so they're gonna be free) she has 3 small children herself, now I am wondering, will it be rude for me not to invite her and her children to my sons birthday, since she is helping me out???

Well; Things are bit complicated: My previous boss wants to write everyone's review for last year (He left the company half year ago). My now boss does not really care about his reviews, he has his own opinon. How do I tell my previous boss that he does not need to spend time to do this? I really don't think they will be used at all.

Would appreciate you help me to find a better way to tell my previous boss.

wearing one of those retarded bluetooth things in your ear or constant text messaging? I have know adults, who should absolutely know better, sit with a group of freinds and constantly text message someone else instead of taking part in what is going on in the room. Likewise we saw a grown woman, out to dinner with her husband and two small children, with one of those stupid things stuck to her ear. And beleive me, she did not look the type that might have to stay in touch with the Tokyo office in case of emergency. Remember when your parents wouldn't let you get up from the dinner table to answer the phone at home?? These are the things that make me want to start punching people.

I"m christian,- catholic to be exact-, and when I walk through the srtreets of my city a lot of poor kids come up to me and ask me to give them money. I used to always give them at least one buck, but I soon realised many of them use that money to get smack or cocaine. On the other hand, others really need the money "cause they"ve got nothing to eat, or need clothes. What should I do?

Is it me, or have people's listening skills deteriorated significantly over the past few years? I have always been a polite conversationalist, who allows others to completely finish their thought when speaking, before I give my comment on it. More and more, I am finding that others do not show people the same courtesy. After I am about halfway through a sentence, people will jump in and give their opinion, not having the complete story, and, by the time they are done, they are not even close to talking about the point I was trying to make. More and more, I am finding (and I am from the old school on this, and do not enjoy doing it) that I have to interrupt them when they interrupt me, saying, "If you would please let me finish........." in order to make sure that my point is received, and I am not misinterpreted. Is it just me, or has society lost its ability to listen carefully and not assume, before listening to itself talk?

When I,ve paid for something and there is a small amount of change for example 1p I expect my change given back..but sometimes find the bus drivers or newsagents etc..seem reluctant to hand it over as though it causes them hassle to hand me back what is due. I wait for them to hand me my cash as I feel its what I am owed...Does anyone else feel annoyed by penny pinchers ?

I just realised cocktail attire meant a little black dress. The event is tonight and the only dress I have has glitter all over it. It is a solid navy blue color with shiny glitter pattern all over it. It has a halter neck and ends slightly above my knees.

I've always wondered what is stopping me from connecting to people, I think it's uptightness.

I've always been a bit socially anxious. People often comment on my leg jiggling and stuff when nervous (which I'm usually doing unconciously) my small friend circle is made up of all females because I usually fall out with guys after their comments. For example someone was going round "introducing" me to people by saying "This is , he's scared of people with a vagina, and doesn't talk very much". Is this sort of thing normal from "the lads"? He' 20 for gods sake! I haven't talked to him since because I found it insulting, my history with g/f's, is nonexistent, that and my shyness are sore points.

I also get horrified when people talk about drugs they've done. When people start talking about sex I leave the room. Hell, ANYTHING illegal makes me instinctively horrified.

Do I need to lighten up? If so, how?
Was his behaviour normal? People at school never said such things.

Let me put it this way: whenever there is a basket of chips or a box of candy, there is always one left at the end. No one wants to eat it. If someone eats that last chip, are they being an asshole for eating it, or are they actually being nice because they are taking the burden of being the asshole and make everyone else look nicer?

I think mine is the car cd player. It brings so much pleasure to driving. Then again, my life is really so much better, since they invented the microwave. I remember getting it around the mid 70's, so I think it was invented in my lifetime.
