wearing one of those retarded bluetooth things in your ear or constant text messaging? I have know adults, who should absolutely know better, sit with a group of freinds and constantly text message someone else instead of taking part in what is going on in the room. Likewise we saw a grown woman, out to dinner with her husband and two small children, with one of those stupid things stuck to her ear. And beleive me, she did not look the type that might have to stay in touch with the Tokyo office in case of emergency. Remember when your parents wouldn't let you get up from the dinner table to answer the phone at home?? These are the things that make me want to start punching people.

I know...it is absolutely rude and both of them are equally annoyinig. No matter how busy or important one is, there should be some time exclusively for family and multitasking is not always a wise thing to do specially when you are in a place where you should relax, enjoy and mingle with friends who are present there in person. I am glad that someone else in the world thinks the way I think. I was feeling all left out seriously... as no one else seems to mind this rude behaviour..Thanks for the question...

I think both are very rude, especially at dinner. I've been working on my husband about the blue tooth. He is on-call 24 / 7 because he's a safety manager at a manufacturing facility & he needs to be available in case of an emergency. But I've finally got him convinced to not wear it if we are out to dinner or at friends house. And if he does get a call, to take it out of the room. There is nothing more annoying to me than someone talking on the phone at the table or in a group of people.
My son is the text messaging master. He can do it with the phone in his pocket. Drives me crazy. I'm working on him too.

Both are equally rude. Also, I don't get how people can hear on a Bluetooth without the outside sound coming in the other ear messing everything up. I have hearing problems enough as it is and can't hear two sounds at once well. How people even use a Bluetooth is foreign to me because of that.
I have to keep my cell phone on 24/7 in case of emergency at the radio station or for my online job, yet I can still put it on "Manner Mode." Wouldn't kill them to do the same.

Yeah mobile phones are getting in the way! We were at a soccer presentation handing out the trophies to the little kids. Anyway, there was this one guy (17+) who's mobile was going off every 5 minutes! Instead of getting up and going outside to talk, he just sat there and chatted away. We could hear his conversation, which was not for the ears of 6 and 7 year olds. In the end, I think someone told him to rack off outside if he continued being rude. the worst thing is though, he didn't think he was doing anything wrong!
when you are doing something special with family or friends, I think they should be turned off for a while. so what if you miss a call. that's why they leave messages on message bank for you!

I vote bluetooth. I especially like it when someone near me starts talking and no one else is around us. They say hello, I respond, not knowing that they are on the phone and thinking this was like the old days when people waiting for a bus might actually talk to each other about the weather, etc., and then THEY get upset at me for interrupting their phone call!
At least texting, I know I am not part of the "conversation" and don't care to be!

Absolutely ...it's really too bad people have no grounded morals these days. Her children will grow to always be doing something else during crucial learning times if she is still on the phone when they hit their teens. lol I hope you don't really want to punch someone...but yah it's ridiculous and without question very rude.

Even more annoying are the people with the walkie-talkie style phones that shout their conversations everyplace they go. I think a lot of the problem is people needing to feel self-important and to have others think they must be important because, well, obviously they are because someone wants to call them, right?

The ear thing but only if I'm trying to talk to the person. Other wise I couldn't care less.

I'd say both are equally rude. In both cases the person is pretty much ignoring (or barely paying attention to) the people they're with.
