I assume that this was a one-time event and not a regular occurrence? If it's a regular occurrence, as it is for some people, the person probably has a disease that's creating this problem and making their life truly miserable, so be compassionate. In any event, I think you can take them aside and pretend it's something else -- "I thought you'd want to know that you must have sat down on something because there's a spot on your pants that you might want to deal with." The alternative is to say nothing, which is what I might do.
