"He might turn out to be one of those *******."
My cousin's mother pretty much ignored him, and just told him to "shut up" in a playful tone. I became irate. I stood up and said "If he WERE what you just said he might be, would you hate him, you dumbass?" Everyone looked at me and
became silent. No one said anything to me afterward, includinbg my uncle.....Was I wrong? Should I have handled the situation differently. I can only take so much of stupidity after all! Even if I over-reacted, I have my reasons...I have been called that word in a non-joking way SO MANY times that I have considered suicide, weak as that may sound.......

How can you politely ask a person to leave your home without offending them?

There is a person who sits next to me at work who constantly moves his thighs in and out to the point where his whole self is moving.

I find it annoying because you can hear his pant legs shuffling but it is also distracting as I can see him moving from the corner of my eye. I just wish the bastard would sit still like everyone else.

Is he masturbating or does he simply not realise what he is doing?

This is a relatively recent occurrance which has me perplexed.

Thanks

Thank you all...Malcolm.

I was driving on a one lane road and one other vehicle was coming behind me with the head lights on high beam..it was absolutely annoying as it was piercing my eyes by reflecting in my rearview mirror . My question is how to let them know that they are being very insensitive to other drivers. I could not even move out of his way as I was on a one lane road. Please suggest.

I am a college student and last semester I had an AWESOME teacher. I am a Christian and I found out that she was involved with the Christian Campus House and stuff so I really really enjoyed being in her class. I found out on the last day of class that she found out she had cancer. I want to ask her how she is doing...like....to get an update because it has been awhile, but I don't know the proper way to do it. Obviously I don't want to say something silly like "How's your cancer?" So......any suggestions? I sent her a card at the end of the semester telling her I was praying for her, so she knows I'm concerned for her, but I don't know how to go about asking anything else. Oh, and one more thing, she's very very young like....20 something and just got married so it's really sad.

I just started working at a new office in my organization (literally one week). I've met everyone at least once. The mother of one of the coworkers (whom I've met once, but will be working with in the future) just died. Our supervisor sent a mass email to everyone in the office informing us of the time/date of the viewing. It is tonight. I'm wondering, since I just started the job, barely know my coworker, and did not know the deceased at all, do I need to attend the wake?

Me, my wife and two kids went to Burger King the other night after a hectic day for both of us.We all sat down in a booth and had dinner, not saying a whole lot and these high school kids come in. They were all boys, the plopped down on the booth behind us that was connected and I think only one of them even bought anything.
Well I just went along with things for awhile even though they were horseplaying and shaking the booths. Finally they said the "F" word one too many times. I just turned around and said, watch the language there are kids here. Well of course I got a response of "F" you... I got up, stood over their table and said are you going to shut up or leave, it's your choice. Well finally I had enough so I grabbed the mouthiest one by the scruff of his jacket and exited him out the door and his friend were quick to leave the other way. He threatened to call the cops and I was like go ahead. The manager came to see what happened and said better you than me.

Last evening, while taking the train home after work, I ran into one of my co-workers. We started conversing about some of the people working on this project with us. I said that I was carrying a disproportional part of the load, and while saying the “I” in “I am carrying the bulk of the load,” I pointed to my chest with my left hand. According to my co-worker, some of the girls sitting near us on the train thought I was arrogant for doing this. After I got off at my stop, the girls supposedly laughed at me and talked to my co-worker about me pointing to my chest while saying “Iiiiiiiiiiii am carrying the bulk of the load.” I do this a lot when referring to myself and am wondering if doing this makes me come off as a conceited individual.

There is this old lady who used to be nice when I started working here. Another girl, who is now gone, told me about the old lady, but I didn't believe it. Now I have found myself in a problem, where the old lady talks about me, and tells other people that I drank all the coffee and didn't make more in the coffee pot. Or that I can't answer her questions, because I am not good at my job. She also says things about other people when they are not around. I wonder if I am the only person who notices that? Now I have to be very careful of everything I do or say, because I know she will go tell my boss about everysingle thing I do. and I know she will tell lies... I am concerned because I can't believe that she acts sweet to other people, hypocrit in other words. She has told me bad things about our boss! I can't go tell my boss about it, because I don't have the heart to tell those things to the others about her. What do I do?
