Well it depends on the time of day. Ifs its in regular hours well you could say that you need to run some errands. If at night, say that you are really tired and that you have to get up very early in the morning and need to get to bed.

Stand up, walk them to the door and say "kindly excuse me, I need to get ready to go out now as I have an appointment with someone/friend/etc" .

Go upstairs get into pyjamas and come down winding a clock and yawning.
Seriously, make an excuse that you have to go out, or get a friend to call you and make the excuse you have to rush to your friends urgently.

It depends on why you want them to leave, but regardless it's your home, be honest.

Do you mean a long-term guest, or a dinner-guest who's staying past your bed time??

Either way, be firm. . .even if they initially think you're being unreasonable, they'll soon think about it and realize you're right.
