If one was to serve stuffed dates, would it be stuffed up or down?

Would one serve them on a napkin or doyally (oops can't spell that) or perhaps with nothing on at all?

serve them in mini cupcake holders or on a platter with toothpicks nearby. Stuffing to the side or up so that guests with potential allergies can see what they are stuffed with and then can either accept or decline graciously.( Nothing worse for a guest than having to spit something out at a party.)

you shouldn't stuff them, at least wait until the second time you see them!!! and ask first!
