Sometimes when something just hits me I'll say
"Oww" even though it doesn't really hurt. Why is that?

In social and professional situations, people tend to use the euphemism "rest room" rather than "bathroom."

I can understand why "bathroom" is preferable to others such as "the toilet." It just seems to me that "bathroom" is already a euphemism, as the room may not have a bath in it, nor would you always be going there to bathe.

Similerly, you probably would not be going in there just to "rest," but that's another issue all together.

Do you personally find something offensive about the word bathroom? If so, what?

Is it because we get naked to bathe and some people uncomfortable the idea of nudity?

I'm growing my natural color in and have received quite a few negative comments. Are we so youth oriented that if a person is premature gray we are considered old and used up?

When writing comments, remember my favorite motto:
"Payback's a *****"

Not sure if I reacted in the correct way. I have been getting sick a lot, and a friend wanted to check up on me and then told me that they always worry about me. In response, I started to blush and then said "thank you" very quietly. I didn't know what else to say at the moment. Is that a correct or accepted response? Or does it look weird to the other person?

My company requires for all to speak English. We have a Delivery driver that speaks VERY little English (he speaks Spanish ONLY). And the reason he was hired was because my boss's daughter felt sorry for him. Now, I speak spanish (now, it's not perfect- but enough to get by). And I've been speaking w/ him in spanish. My boss told us to speak English, because that's the only way he'll learn. And he still speaks spanish to me. How do I nicely tell him not to speak to me in spanish anymore? He is mad because he has to speak english. But he knows he needs to speak it if he wants to work here.

I feel like if you come to this country at least make the effort to learn to speak our language. I think this country accomodates immigrants and it's not fair.

It's a large party (75-80 guests), and it seems excessive to bring a gift to this in addition to the bridal shower and wedding gifts... right? She is a relatively close friend though.

I have been married for about 3 and a half years now and I have no kids, nor are me and my husband trying for a baby (not yet anyway.) People keep criticizing us and telling us that we are waiting too long to have kids and we should start soon. Why do people always comment on other's personal business as if we care to know their opinion about our lives?

A very old friend just emailed me to say that she is pregnant and that she and the baby's father have broken up - all in the same email. How do I respond to this?

I don't want to sound judgmental of her choices or worried about her (she called this "good news" and seems happy about the baby) but at the same time I have to figure in sympathy for the difficult situation she is in, not having a partner to help her. How can I write her back delicately?

Also, we live several hundred miles apart and I cannot offer her any physical help; we have not seen each other in about a year, and we have only emailed once or twice since then (no phone calls). Do I owe her an offer of emotional support via phone? How do I phrase an email back to her? Please help!

Why is it okay to register for weddings/showers but if you choose not to get married or have kids you can't receive what you really want? That sucks.
