A friend of mine is coming into town to run errands (she used to live in my city). We're planning on having dinner together. She asked in an email whether she could stay with me.

The trouble is I don't have a quest room in my small condo and she'd have to sleep in the livingroom. She and I are good friends but I don't consider her very close. I don't feel comfortable having her over sleeping on the couch w/ no privacy. I'm a very private person. I wouldn't mind if she's family or my close friends.

I was surprised that she'd make such request since she hasn't even been to my place. At least I don't think we're THAT close of friends. I feel bad for wanting to say "no" but I just don't feel comfortable having her stay the night. Additionally, she's going through a tough time in her life. That makes me feel even more guilty.

What's the proper ettiquete? Was it an acceptable thing for her to do to ask to stay at my place? Is it okay to say no?

Help!

I am a waitress...so i know that you should tip your server based on her service. Everyone knows we make our money from our tips and we work hard for them (at least most of us)...what about these situations?

Tip jar (dunkin donuts, starbucks, coffee shops, sandwich shops)...we already overpay for these things, do you really have to leave a tip? especially at starbucks?

How about the pizza guy? A flat tip of $3 or $4, right?

How about the guy that helps you unload a taxi or your luggage at the hotel...and you didnt ask for the help? Again, a flat rate tip? even if you didnt ask?

How about the hair stylist or manicurist? 20%, like you would tip a good server? So a $100 hair highlight you would give them $20!! That seems a bit outrageous!

What do you think? What do you do in all of these situations?

There's this guy at my gym, he's actuaaly a trainer there, and my problem, is the fact that I don't know if he's flirting with me or not.For instance, around christmas, he came up to me and asked me how my holidays and I told him it was okay, then he asked me, who did I spend it with. And then there was another occasion where he came up to me and told me I looked sad, and wanted to see me smile, and as I was leaving asked me when will I be back.I'm thinking , well maybe he's just being friendly, but he's always telling me to text message him for trainer sessions, and i told him several times, I'm a broke college student, and I cannot afford them, but he's still asking me to told me to call him for this free session, so I asked him why was he offering me the free session, and he said because he does it for people he connect with so anyhow, I finally showed up for the damn session but I was late, so he's like when can you come in and I told him next friday and he's like why so
long

I usually don't mind people talking on their cell phone but lets me honest most people that do are loud. I mean damn why are you so loud we are not at a concert. Plus im not trying to hear your sexist/jokes and how you got it on with the girl from the bar. Don't people even have any courtesy these days. I can't go grocery shopping, to school, restaurant or anyway without some idiot yelling at the top of thier lungs telling their business to the world.

I am looking for wording for wedding invitations.
I have heard of people who at the time of gettingmarried have been living together for years and therefore dont need any gifts, so tey put a verse in the invite stating such, and requesting money to a travel agent for honey moon, wishing well, etc.
Has anyone seen or used any of these clever verses?

My boyfriend's grandfather died last night and the service is in a couple of days. We've been together 5.5 years, and living together almost 1 year. I very sincerely offered to accompany him to the funeral. HE ASKED ME NOT TO COME. He said that it would be a very emotional FAMILY affair, and although I'm kind of his family now, his parents and aunts and uncles would be very emotional and having an "outsider" (his words) there might make it worse. Although I guess I understand in a way, I also feel kind of hurt by this. Am I overreacting? ( I didn't say anything to him about being upset.)

There was a woman who bought a lottery ticket, scratched it off, my co-worker saw her do so, and then went and complained that it was already scratched off. She went and complained to the store manager, and he gave her, her money back!! and there as no way the ticket would look like that if it would have been scratched....*why not say something before hand?*

or like buying a some clothing, bringing it back with a staind.....and saying "it was like this when i bought it"....and trying to get money back...

there is this girl at school that just moved here, and shes really skinny. at school when ever there is a silence, she just screams at the top of her lungs and she thinks nothing of it afterwards, i'm not even sure if she knows shes doing. for example, today during the exams, it was really quiet. then about 5 minutes later she screams at the top of her lungs for about a second then stops, the principal had to put her in another room. another time she was walking in the hall and there was guy in her way, so she was standing behind him, then she screamed really loud right in his ear, it was so highpitched. everyone in the hall stopped when it happend. why does she do this?

A coworker/friend is having problems with her partner. She has asked to stay with my partner and I until she can figure things out. This is the second time this has happened. The first time was okay but now that things aren't so smoothe with my partner and I, we would prefer that she not stay with us so that we can continue to work through our problems. What is a polite way of telling her no without 1) being rude 2) letting her know that we are also having problems?

Apparantely writing (with his feet) the name of a rival insurance firm and then crossing it out. Everyone laughed when he was finished and he said that he learned it from his kids watching hip-hop videos. I am offended by this and wish to file a complaint. To whom should I address my concern?? He has no respect for the African-American community. He doesn't realize that people die over that stuff in real life.
