If he has pets, anonymously report him to your local humane society or animal control, if he has kids, anonymously report him to child services. Those are unlivable conditions for them. Or consider contacting the police-maybe he's got dead bodies in there or a meth lab. If it's so bad you can smell it from your place, and it's constant, who knows what's going on in there?

Are you renting or do you own your town house.? You could tell your land lord or his.

Do you have neighbors around you and him .? You could write him a letter and not sign and he might think it was one of the other neighbors.

Im not sure telling him face to face might be a good thing. Sometimes that does not work and makes things harder. If he does not know his apartment smells like pee I really do not think telling him will make him realize it.

You might also try when you are sitting on your porch and his door is open walk up and shut it and when he says something tell him you are trying to read or do some paper work and you being distracted by the noise.

Do you have an animal.? Use them as an excuse. Like you do not want them to get in the habit of going in to other peoples places.

Good Luck.

I'm not getting it. How does your neighbor having his door open mean that you don't have privacy on your porch? And I'm also confused about the concept of having privacy on a porch anyway, since porches are usually open to the street. It seems to me that if you want privacy you can just go in your house. Perhaps you could add detail that would clear that up.

As for the smell, that is a concern. Why don't you mention your concern to the landlord? I'm sure the landlord would want the place to be odor-free as well. The landlord can handle it.

If the landlord chooses to let the situation continue, perhaps moving away might be your best option.

ADDITIONAL: Are you talking about a back porch? Still, the yard is open.

Try talking to your neighbor and tell him that you would like him to close his door when you are on your porch out of respect. Tell him if he doesn't, you will start leaving your door open when he has company over and stare at them while they try to have a good time and get on their nerves so he can see how irritating it is.

If this doesn't help, call your landlord and complain that when your neighbor leaves his door open, you can smell an overwhelming stench of piss. Your landlord will probably straighten him out. Good luck!
