hate to tell you but yes you do!

i normally bring something small but thoughtful since you will be buying more larger gifts in the near future.

i have given monogrammed napkins; a nice writing pen, thank you cards, and stamps; appropriate christmas ornaments; address labels; personalized welcome mat; serving spoons, etc.

It depends. Is this person a co-worker friend or a family member.

Bring a small gift like perfume for a co worker. Bring a more heartfelt gift for a family member.

Yep... you bring a gift to the engagement party; bridal / bachelor / jack&jill type party and also the wedding.

yes i would or put some money in the engagement card if you dont want to carry a gift

thats the reason why they have engagement parties - to have fun but get pressies also

I'm not sure of the right etiqette, but i would bring one gift for the both of them. That you could afford .
