there is this girl at school that just moved here, and shes really skinny. at school when ever there is a silence, she just screams at the top of her lungs and she thinks nothing of it afterwards, i'm not even sure if she knows shes doing. for example, today during the exams, it was really quiet. then about 5 minutes later she screams at the top of her lungs for about a second then stops, the principal had to put her in another room. another time she was walking in the hall and there was guy in her way, so she was standing behind him, then she screamed really loud right in his ear, it was so highpitched. everyone in the hall stopped when it happend. why does she do this?

Sounds to me as if she is wanting/needing attention. The examples you gave were her screaming in a guys ear and during a test. Both of the examples did not sound random...but very planned on her part. I bet if you got to know her, you would find out why she acts like she does.

She could have a condition like Tourette's syndrome, which would make it completely uncontrollable for her, and it isn't her fault at all. Or, it could be something like Asperger's syndrome, which means that she doesn't and cannot understand that that is socially inappropriate behavior, again it wouldn't be her fault at all. Or, she could be just acting out for attention.
Why don't you try talking with her like a friend and find out instead of observing her like an animal in a zoo?

Tourettes all the way. Especially if she occasionally screams out swears and stuff.

This sounds like a mental condition. If I were you I would post this in the mental health section. That might get u more answers.

I agree -- it sounds like this girl has some sort of psychological problem. Like you said, she may not even be aware that she's doing it.

I'm thinking she has special needs, maybe Tourettes, maybe not. It may be attention-seeking (even if it's not consciously).
