Not sure if I reacted in the correct way. I have been getting sick a lot, and a friend wanted to check up on me and then told me that they always worry about me. In response, I started to blush and then said "thank you" very quietly. I didn't know what else to say at the moment. Is that a correct or accepted response? Or does it look weird to the other person?

I forgot, I did say "aww" before the "thank you".

I think I blushed b/c I got embarrassed due to the attention...

I had wanted to say "you don't have to worry" but all that came out was "aww thank you"

That's about the best answer you could give your friend. Never wrong to say thank you for a kindness, or show of concern.

I think that it was very sweet what your friend did. That is after all what friends are for right. Thank you is always a good answer as long as you mean it and you don't use it like the word .."the"...all of the time. Maybe since you have some down time you could make your friend a card to elaborate a little more on how much you appreciate what he did

who knows? people get worried you know, and to say thank you to someone who was worried about you is a little concerned. I think is a pure fine idea to say thank you. and I didn't say thank you to those who worry about me. but those who pretend must seduce animals.

You got your appreciation across very well and it came from your heart...there's nothing wrong at all with your response.

Hope you're feeling better. :-)

I think that was a good response.

You may have also said "Thank you. I appreciate your concern."

Sounds natural and appropriate. Though one has to wonder why they worry about you so much.
