There is a saying in the epic Mahabharat, that, if one is to be sacrificed to save a family, it should be done, if a family is to be sacrificed to save a village or society, it should be done, if a village is to be sacrificed to save a Nation, it should be done and ......

perhaps if sacrifice of a Nation is required to save the Whole World, it should be done ....

.......... but the problem here perhaps is who determines where to go ??? Who is good and bad ? Who is there to be sacrificed and whom to be saved ? Who shall determine these ???.....

What are your thoughts on this issue ?

i've heard cases where people see the "ghost" of a loved one almost immediatly after their time of death. my friend said that he saw his dad staring at him in a doorway for a couple of seconds then disappeared. his dad was out of the state on a business trip though and my friend found out that he died around the same time that he saw the figure in the doorway. are these events common? is it all in the person's mind?

I was baptised a few days ago. The water was quite cold and I was baptised for the forgiveness of sins. However after the baptism I was feeling that I had to be baptised again due to many trivial reasons (ie water is cold, I opened my eyes underwater, I trusted my feelings/emotions etc). I felt depressed as I thought I had not done my baptism properly and thought I had to be baptised again. However nowhere in Scripture does it say that I have to 'feel right' or 'feel relived' or have a 'perfect' baptism to be saved. Does anyone know if I have been distracted by my feelings? Does God understand my weaknesses? Do I have to be baptised again? After all, many ppl who are baptised feel relieved since their sins were washed away. How come I feel so lousy?

And Jesus said:
"I AM a door:
Any man that enter in me,
He shall be saved!"

Raar! Talk about forward! He really likes to get to it, doesn't he?

Just wanted to know if it is as taboo in other countries to be an atheist as it is here in the U.S. At least were I am from it is (Texas), at work everyone found out I was atheist and started giving my the lecture and saying how I need god otherwise I will go to hell, and all their personal experiences and blah blah blah. Also, I am sure there is no way an atheist could ever get elected as president in the united states. So, is it like this in other countries, or is it not a big deal? I know america is a lot more uptight and conservative than other nations.

Can you prove, without referring to unproven bible quotes, hearsay or supposition, or standard phrases and saying by priests or otherwise, that your god does exist?
Just prove it in a very few words, no need for sermons here..

My gossipy neighbour has a tendency to be malicious with it. I've just found out that she's been spreading rumours that I'm an alcoholic; apparently she hears the chink of glass several times a day.

I am not upset by this, but would like to do something to embarrass her, in the nicest possible way! Nasty is not my style.

As I don't think one or two glasses a week with dinner is classified as being alcoholic, the chinking she hears will be things like bottles of olive oil, vinegar, and my storage jars are glass - all of which are now being rattled more frequently.

Any other suggestions, with a touch of humour preferred, and she is a senior citizen. I'm sure you folks can come up with something.

Intelligent Design is not science, and has no place in science lessons, according to the Vatican's chief astronomer, the Rev. George Coyne. According to the Italian news agency, ANSA, Father Coyne was speaking informally at a conference in Florence when he said that intelligent design "isn't science, even though it pretends to be."

He argued that if it is to be taught in schools, then it should be taught in religion or cultural history classes, but that it should not be on the science curriculum.

Proponents of intelligent design argue that life on Earth is just too complex to have arisen without the aid of some kind of designer. ID's critics point out that its main tenets are highly unscientific and untestable, and say that it is merely creationism in disguise.

Serious answers! This voodoo spell I read had said your anger and fury will add potency to the spell. But I am confused because I once read from another source that negativity during spell casting only clouds your intent and may cause backfire to you. What is right?

I'm getting increasingly annoyed by waiters in fine restaurants presenting me with the bill and putting it right in front of me whenever I go out with my girlfriend. They put me in a very uncomfortable position since I do not want to be the one who wants to be paying for it. So if I do end up paying for it I often present them with no tip at all for doing that. Why can't they just put the bill in the midlle of the table? Why do they decide for you?

I think I would freak out if I was in heaven. The cherubim has four wings and has eyes all over their wings, they also have four heads. The Seraphim has six wings, six eyes, and multiple heads, and they sit around all day saying "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory." So, would you be scared $hitless if you were in heaven? I would be like a bad acid trip.

Attack is the beast way to defend this is in a soccer game not in a war.
Why you christens saying Arabs and Muslims are terriers, when you are the one who is a terriers!!!.
Have you notice that I have pissed you off because I just say (christens) and I haven’t say some of you, or some grope that are christens are a terriers.
well This is what you are doing now. However your government brain washes you, in the Fox TV and such. They get their salary from the American government, is that clear to you.
Now when an American employee (Ben Laden) turns his back on his boss and start to create a small virgin of what America all about, you take the chance to say Muslims are terriers. When you the one who drop the biggest bomb on earth on the yang Children and women when they were a sleep at 10.10am.hah what was that? Or for the American it is okay to do so. And now you are the one how is in the Muslims land and you are the one who kills more then the 9/11 victim every day in Iraq.

To be honest, I have no problem with anyone believing whatever they want, I'm just curious about this.

Okay, Jesus allegedly died to be a human sacrifice so that God could forgive mankind for their sins. But if Jesus is God doesn't that kind of negate the point to it all? Basically it's saying that he had himself martyred so that he could forgive mankind, what exactly was acheived from himself not-actually-dieing and ascending to heaven after his non-death.

I know that some people say that Jesus died so that he could go to hell to fight the devil for us but, again, if he was God why would he need to go through the process of being born, living a life, dieing and going to hell when he could surely just go directly there.

All I'm saying is if Jesus is God then he made a helluva huge thing about it. And what's with Judas killing himself if it's what was meant to happen? Why is he cast in a bad light when he was apparently doing God's work by leading him to death?

Thanks
