I have had close contact with some of the big names in Charities. Some Cancer Care Societies, Medical research foundations, United Ways, and some others. All the people working in these work on targets to raise donations. They publish these numbers of how much they raised this year. None of these ever publish numbers of where they spent these dollars. They even get permission from the governments to run lotteries for raising funds.

Some charities have the ratio as low as 12 cents spent of charitable cause for every dollar they raise. The balance 88 cents are spent on their staff and advertising budgets. Are they really doing business by showing emotional advertisements to us. Or is it my mis-conception.

If you are a simple / emotional / gullible person, who donates a few dollars from modest earnings. Have you ever tried asking these establishments "How much donations they raised last year and how much was spent on what?"

interest in finding out who is in charge. is there a group of people all together in room. or is it by complaints posted from unhappy readers. is it the world making the decision on what is or isnt a good enough question. what are the cridentuals for a member of this commity.???? please help. because either my questions are not clear or there misread. or i am being pointed out and freedom of speech and the amendments that also have many valid arguments are not following, can you help with my problem. the bible should be the intruction book, for commity

I'm guessing not really. I've been running and lifting weights since age 12. I've been abroad and in uncomfortable conditions for shorter periods but not being able to lift weights for two years would take some time to recover from. I'm a very sports-minded guy. I should probably contact someone in the organization about questions like this.

Along with research in helping mothers make the right decisions who is really willing to help in donating items to help when I get my services started. I know it will be a nonprofit organization. But I want the young mothers to know there is still help available and caring people in the world. I want this not to just be in southcarolina but nation wide. If I can get enough people to partner with me and keep family together. So who would really help to donate items just curious. Diapers, Car Seats, Formula, Clothing, Day Care, ETC. I'm trying to raise money for a mission trip that I am going on in July.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any websites where I could post information about my website and have people donate to it?

I'm doing the trip with Athletes in Action (a group under Campus Crusade for Christ). We are going to Israel to share the gospel and build bridges over there through the sport of basketball.

Note: this question was originally asked in the local DC area section, since the natives and wanna be natives lack the morals and smarts to answer, I now pose it to the US yahoo community

1. If volunteering is required in order to make a living/graduate from HS or college aren't we devaluing volunteerism. IOW people will do it to get ahead and not out of altruism.

2.What does this say about organizations that are willing to enforce a policy of indentured servitude instead of employing a qualified person? Are they that desperate to save money?

3.What about those who want to volunteer but are ignored becase the organization has a quota to fufill with said HS, University or other organization.

4. Aren't we slowly killing the American dream since those the only ones who can afford to volunteer or intern for more than one calander year are those whose families can afford to support them for said length of time. IOW we are maintaining the status quo
