If you love volunteering and hope to be a volunteer in some parts of the poor countries such as cambodia but you have no skills nor experience. no qualification in social work nor in medical. Do you think they allow you to join in & without skills you couldn't help much. Would you re-consider to persuade such interest?

My university has these alternative student breaks where we take a class on a subject for a quarter and it culminates with a trip to that region of the U.S...or country in my case. Though my university has decreased the cost it is still pretty expensive for me. Are there community service grants out there or other institutions that award money for these types of adventures?

Thanks!

I live in London, Ontario, Canada.

An international package sent to me went missing for about a month.
Lately, the sender tracked it online in the attempt to figure out what is going on, and found a person called M Beaudoin signed and received the package.

I don't even know who the heck that guy is; the package is sent to MY address and is supposed to be received by ME.

Can anyone think of any possible reason how that could happen?

I'm 16 and I really want to travel to another country to volunteer, but every program I've looked at costs at least $4000. Are there any cheaper programs out there?

I work with an organization that is looking to recruit volunteers for a one day (although long event). The volunteers would have to go through a training (which would last up to 3 hours, although most people will take a 2 hour class).

With vacations, the New Year approaching and cold weather, we're finding it pretty difficult to recruit. My organization has no money in the budget to post in the newspaper or on the jobs section of Craigslist.

We plan to drop off applications and posters at our local libraries, local universities/colleges, and perhaps some community centers/places where there are message boards. We also intend to try online sites that are aimed toward recruiting, general social networks or other places to post items of interest.

Suggestions? Other ideas? Our event is in early Feb, and people have to be signed up as soon as possible.

Every single volunteer program I have seen on the web makes participants pay money in order to volunteer with them. Isn't there a place that will organize safe volunteer experiences for free, and possible pay for transportation??

I'm looking for a good charity with an anti-seal hunt campaign to donate to. I used to donate to HSUS, but I've heard some back things about them recently. I've seen harpseals.org, but can't find much info about them, so I'm not sure if they're legit, good or bad, etc. I know sites like IFAW have seal campaigns, but apparently all donations go to the mass fund, and I'd like my donations to be used just for the seal campaign. Anyone know of a good charity where you can contribute just to a seal fund?

I live in Southern California. I will be attending school here and am hoping to find some place where I can go into Mexico, when I have free weekends and what not and help out (in any area). I don't need an organization necessarily; I am able to get there myself. I would like to work on my Spanish, see another country, meet new people and help out. Any ideas?

I always wondered about that. The homeless seem so helpless and it's like most people don't give a damn about them and I always wanted to help them psycologically and all like asking them how they came to be homeless..but maybe some people do that already..but who? and I understand that some homeless people are mentally disabiliteted, some are addicts, some are criminals, some are cold hearted, some are traumatize and some just choose to be homeless but I think some deserve help from care givers..
