I always wondered about that. The homeless seem so helpless and it's like most people don't give a damn about them and I always wanted to help them psycologically and all like asking them how they came to be homeless..but maybe some people do that already..but who? and I understand that some homeless people are mentally disabiliteted, some are addicts, some are criminals, some are cold hearted, some are traumatize and some just choose to be homeless but I think some deserve help from care givers..

There are organizations focused on providing services for the homeless and advocating on their behalf all over the USA, and many other countries as well. If you are in the USA, contact your local United Way agency or even your local newspaper -- they can tell you what organizations in your area are working on behalf of the homeless. As many homeless people are military veterans, also contact veteran associations, to see what services they are providing and how you can help.

The vast majority of homeless people suffer from mental/emotional impairments, so organizations addressing mental health issues are also worth checking into.
