How can I find benevolent people to donate money so I can stay at home and look after my baby? I don't want to go back to work. The thought of leaving my baby kills me. My husband doesn't earn enough to support us all.

I would like answers from people who have travelled and had the opportunity to work with AmeriCorps.

When you are on your "assignment" (lack of better term)

1.Do you get personal time to explore the area you are staying? Ex. evenings, weekends
2. Are you there staying with other people, what are the general living conditions like?
3. Is it advised to bring your own money or is their "living expense allowance" good enough?
4. Are you competing with a lot of people once you apply, or are you generally accepted if you apply?

I know this is all stuff that could be answered by a representative, but I always like to get a 1st hand opinion on it, from someone who's experienced it!

Thanks!

I ordered something from New Jersey, U.S to Ontario Canada.
When I asked the place when the item will arrive, they said it would take 2-3 weeks because I live in another country.
However on the usps website, it says priority mail international will take up to 6-10 days.
I don't know which of them is true, 2-3 weeks or 6-10 days.
I hope it's 6-10 days because it's already been 7 days and I wanted it by christmas. (which I didn't)

I'm a high school student in New York City, and I'm looking for a one-day volunteering event for my school club. There are about 70 members in the club, most of which will be able to volunteer. Does anyone know any good mass-volunteering events in New York that will last for about one day, on either Saturday or Sunday? If you don't know any events for that many people, an event for about 25 people should do.

Thank you!

I've had all these old birthday and holiday cards over the past 25 years, but feel bad about just throwing them away so I thought it wouldn't be so bad if I donate them to someone or place who could put good use to them. The issue is, I dont know who to donate them to. I've checked around online and found pretty much nothing. So if anyone can help me, I'd appreciate greatly!!

It seems to me to be totally bizzare for somone who is richer than me wants to tell me what to do with my money (what little I have).

I think the rich can start suggesting what I should do with my money, when they have given away so much of theirs that they have the same amount as me. This goes for mega-wealthy popstars too.

I don't recall Bill Gates telling me what to do with my money, he seems to whole hearttedly put his own money towards the causes he supports - shouldn't the other wealthy folks follow his example?

This website donates 20 grains of rice to the United Nations World Food Program for every vocabulary word that you get right. It's a great and easy way to give to charity.
