It seems that every German person that I meet speaks English perfectly. It would be interesting yo learn the language, but it would appear pointless due to their aptitude for English. Your thoughts/opinions/observances?

Like sometimes the plural form has an accent, but sometimes it doesn't. Is there are formal way to tell if it needs one?

"Heart" as in the "love" sense of the word. I've done some research and seen "pectus," and other translations, but I don't know if that is correct. I'd love if anyone who knows Latin or anything about latin could help me out!

My best guess is that it means "hug for you", with the x standing for "hug", the slash standing for "for", and the u standing for "you." Thanks!

Hildegard Knef - FÜR MICH SOLL'S ROTE ROSEN REGNEN
Mit 16 sagte ich still
ich will, will groa sein, will siegen
will froh sein, nie lagen
mit 16 sagte ich still
ich will, will alles, oder nichts

Far mich sollÂ’s rote Rosen regnen
mir sollten samtliche Wunder begegnen
die Welt sollte sich umgestalten
und ihre Sorgen far sich behalten

Und spater sagte ich noch
ich macht verstehen, viel sehen
erfahren, bewahren
und spater sagte ich noch
ich macht nicht allein sein
und doch frei sein

Far mich sollÂ’s rote Rosen regnen
mir sollten samtliche Wunder begegnen
das Glack sollte sich sanft verhalten
Es soll mein Schicksal mit Liebe verwalten

Und heute sage ich still
ich sollt mich fagen, begnagen
ich kann mich nicht fagen
kann mich nicht begnagen
will immer noch siegen
will alles, oder nichts

Far mich sollÂ’s rote Rosen regnen
mir sollten ganz neue Wunder begegnen
mich fern vom alten neu entfalten

Claro-que-sim
Fui escoteira-mirim
Direto da escola, não
Não ia cheirar cola
Nem basquete, pebolim
O que eu gosto não é de graça
O que gosto não é farsa
Tem guitarra, bateria, computador saindo som
Alguns dizem que mais alto que um furacão (rhéum)
Perto dele eu podia sentir
Saía de seu olho e chegava em mim
Sentada do seu lado
Eu queria encostar
Faria o tigela até o sol raiar
Debaixo do lençol
Ele gemia em ré bemol
Fiquei tensa
Mas tava tudo bem
Ele é fodão, mas eu sei que eu sou também

help please...its driving me crazy

thank you

Just wondering...there are so many bad and/or indifferent spellers online now. I usually assume that the person is lazy or just plain old incompetent if they can't spell. However, it's getting to be a rarity when you actually see complete sentences, so maybe I'm the only one! lol ; )

Languages that come from the same family are often amazingly similar. Are they ever close enough that linguists could have a reasonable debate over whether they are dialects of the same language or both descendants of a common language?
For instance, English is spoken in both the United States of America and Great Britain, but they are spoken so differently that cultural translation is often necessary for communication to take place. Do linguists consider these related languages, dialects, or the same language, and what factors go into their decision?

Right now I am learning German which will take me about 1.5 years to understand a lot.

I want to learn Real Latin American Spanish and not that spain ****. I live in NYC and would love to be able to converse in Spanish that most latinos understand.

Don't say Pimsleur as I have taken a few lessons of Pimsleur Spanish and was not impressed, unlike my Pimsleur German which I was impressed with.
