This may take a bit; be patient.

What you're asking about is an ellipse in English. The complete string would be, "No, I don't want either." ("Both" should be limited to positive statements.)

In German, you could say, "I want neither apples nor oranges." This would be "Ich will weder Aepfeln noch Orangen."

If the first question were "Do you like apples and oranges," the grammatical response could be, "I don't like either." In German, that would be "Ich habe beides nicht gern." The colloquial ellipse might sound like "Beides nicht."

Nein is the general word for no. And you would use that for this question. If you wanted to say neither, you would say "keiner".

Also, "kein" means no. As in I have no apples. Ich habe kein Apfeln. Or I speak no German. Ich spreche kein Deutsch.

Actually, the above answer is not really correct. If someone asked you the question "Möchten Sie Äpfel oder Orangen?" and you didn't want either, you would answer - "Weder, noch, danke." That would take care of everything.

The modal verb "wollen" doesn't always equate to the English "want". Möchten is a better form.

Do you want apples and oranges - Willst Du Āpfel und Orangen ?

"Nein," pronounced like "nine" in English, and not with the yankee accent.
