I got a seven year old nephew who believes in Santa.

He is very obsessed with Santa and waits for him every year.

He frequently asks me why Santa can't come more often, so i decided to tell him the truth that santa is a made up fairytale for kids.

I felt he was old enough to stop day dreaming about Santa.

However, he refused to believe me and said he could feel Santa was real.

So i asked him how Santa could appear at everyone's home simultaneously. He told me that Santa is omnipotent and he respects Santa as God.

I told him that he should believe in Jesus, not Santa as God.

He told me that he oftenly prays to Santa and Santa frequently answers his prayers.

So I asked him how he was so sure it was not a coincidence.
So he told me that he got a relationship with Santa and he got faith in Santa that nothing can disprove.

He told me it was not about the prayers, but it was about the relationship that he could feel, and it feels very real for him.

2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 (King James Version)

11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

What denomination or theology would be your closest "brothers in Christ" that you share the most beliefs with?

Please don't say, "none of them." You claim the Christian label, so do other Christian denominations.

I have read several answers by "Mavis" tonight that seem racist and I don't think that is appropriate on here. I have NEVER reported anyone ...I don't want to...but I'm wondering if I should? Would you? She is probably just trying to get attention and with this question, I may be giving her that....but I want your opinions ----should I report her? (note: I don't hit the report button but this is getting ridiculous. Read some of her answers and you will see what I mean.)

Assuming I am some heathen and have little knowledge of the bible to begin with, am a fast comprehending reader, and have LOADS of free time.

I have a week before school starts and nothing better to do with my life.

Do you think I could finish it?

Alright- rephrase, do you think that once I finished it in that ammount of time I would have gotten anything out of it?

Because of Religion we have wars and we have religious nuts. My question to the Atheist is what can we do to save the world form the polution that is already done and has no way out of the atmosphere? What should I expect from death? I'm not trying to be a smart ***, I just want to hear your opinions? I'll respect your comments.

Many people think of "faith" as either a feeling or a collection of ideas that represent one's convictions. Although both of these concepts involve elements of faith, the full definition is much broader. What is faith to you? Is your main element in faith in its relation to the invisible God?

Also, post the religion/beliefs you follow.

Yes, I'm aware they are on the same political party and that this wouldn't be possible in the real life. I'm just curious what people here on R&S think. :)

Atheists want to remove "One nation under God" from the Pledge. They are now fighing for "a moment of silence" to be removed from public places. A school in West Virginia was ordered to remove a picture of Jesus in the hallway and to top it all off.. Iran wants to destroy Zionism.

End of the world? Ummm, Yuppers...

I ask because I think a beast is a rich, powerful institution that controls the world, or a large portion of it by all manner of manipulation and fear mongering. I can only think of one such institution that has had and still maintains that kind of power and it has one main image all must worship or die- or end up in hell . . . Hint . . . "it looks like a lamb but speaks like a dragon."

Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
In the Creation account, Adam, the newly created man, came alive when God Breathed into him "the breath of Life."
So what is a Soul?

There are a lot of people asking about morals. So where do they come from. Is it your religion, the way you were raised, or something that you learn over time?
Would good, kind people that have never experienced religion be considered to be immoral, even if they help hundreds or thousands?

I have my own opinions, just opening up for debate.

We talked about marriage in heaven. Of course he is like everyone eles, there are no marriages in heaven.

I tryed to tell him that Gods will is not being done on earth as it is in heaven. He said that is ment for latter, not now. Right now we do not do his will.
he brought of celibancy, I said to him, that way is incorrcet. For you walk like a gay person and bring forth no life, ignoring your body.... Not ment to insult.
I said Jesus has a wife the chruch, and the father has a wife the Jews, you have no wife. He said my wife is Jesus's wife. I said no you have no wife. Funny Catholics are strongly against devorce and adutury, but the prist walk as if they have no bride, and take Jesus bride for them selfs. Sounds funny...:)

in my eyes anyway... This is not the way to walk as per marriage. But the rest of the church I like so far, over the pentacostal church and the other denominations.

My friend is a very smart guy, funny, very very nice. BUT, he has this weird like giggly BUST OUT loud nervous laugh that he does all the time - very high-pitched and silly sounding. You can just see people look at him like WTF? He doesn't realize he does this I guess. I feel like I want to say "Dude, ,you need to tone that big ol guffaw giggly laugh down because it's screechy loud." But, how the heck do you say that to someone without hurting their feelings?
