I ask because I think a beast is a rich, powerful institution that controls the world, or a large portion of it by all manner of manipulation and fear mongering. I can only think of one such institution that has had and still maintains that kind of power and it has one main image all must worship or die- or end up in hell . . . Hint . . . "it looks like a lamb but speaks like a dragon."

Greed lust anger sloth pride gluttony envy That image is in your bathroom mirror right now., As good as you might be they exist to some extent in every human. The beast is in you and in me. Pretending its our there some sort of other evil person is the easy way out. Thats what gives the beast power to stay. Your saying the beast is organized religion. I can see your point. The anti christ sorta started with Saul or Paul. But blaming them is not the answer either its still avoidance of looking inside onself . Until we look at ourselves then the beast will always get away.

It will probably be a supercomputer with the brain of Antichrist life-scanned and downloaded into it, enhanced by access to all recorded human knowledge and able to process information a million times faster than the human brain, and with a direct link to all who will receive the "mark of the beast".

The beast is the capitalist system. It was spoken of long before christianity. It is neither good nor bad. The most popular images of it are the bear and bull. The mark of the beast is your credit record. You can't live without it.

Nero Ceaser was the beast in Revelation. People use the label anti Christ to describe anyone in power they don't like.
