What do you say? How can they call themselves this when their actions go against Islam?

In the Prophet's time and indeed in moderate forward thinking Muslim countries today, women are respected and honored. To turn a sick woman out of her hospital bed is against all the teachings of Islam, which again and again requires believers to show compassion to those who are sick in any way. Mothers particularly are revered In Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (s.a.a.w) said that paradise lies at the feet of mothers, and upon being asked by a new male Muslim to whom he should show respect, the Prophet replied: "First your mother, second your mother, third your mother, and fourth your father." Where is that respect now in Afghanistan and elsewhere?

In September 1996, the Taliban took control of Kabul and a large portion of Afghanistan.

Yesterday, while having a cuppa at my mum's, I picked up the previous Sunday's paper. I read about the 17 month old baby - tortured to death. I threw the paper away and went into the kitchen where MY 17 month old baby was cuddling with her Gran, I picked her up, buried my face in her tiny curls and wept like a baby.
I felt grief, sorrow, anger and a murderous rage that made it hard to breathe...I felt like I'd been kicked in the chest.
I then realised there cannot be a 'God', an 'almighty' all-loving being who could leave this to happen to babies, children, all vulnerable people.

Heaven is having no conscience.
Hell is here on Earth.
The Devil is the human race itself.
The bible was a story book, written by men, to fool other men.

There is no 'God'......is there?

I only ask this to understand them, not being Catholic myself. They call their Reverend "Father" asking "Forgive me Father, for I have sinned". Isn't that praying to a preacher instead of God? And they pray to saints. Isn't this a form of worship? And worshipping something/someone other than God himself?

Why is it that no matter how much me and this girl from my gym have berated each other, have been harsh to each other have been abrasive toards each other. She's iranian and i'm asian which caused us to have racial differences and incidents, but anyway, she will still try to get my attention, pop up in what ever area i'm in,and all of those things.I ignored her for awhile bevause i didn't trust her,and we only really had 1 good conversation with each other, but why is she still acting like this?I don't look her in the eye because i am embarrased about my behavior toward her and mad about how she behaved towards me.

The ancient story of Prometheus seems a close parallel to the account of Satan in the bible. Although Satan is ascribed evil intent the result is the same. Knowledge/fire is brought to manand the bringer is cast down and punished eternally. Even the name Lucifer means 'light bringer'.was this motif simply borrowed, like other parts of the Old Testament seem to be, from other, older stories and myths?

Im Apostolic, not all people who believe Jesus is God are Trinitarian, I don't believe in Three divine persons, I only believe in One God who manifested himself in Three ways, this isn't the Trinity, this is one God meaning one person manifesting himself in three ways, God is our Father in Creation, Son in Redemption, And Holy Spirit in Regeneration. Three persons seem polytheistic if you ask me, Im strictly monotheistic, Please learn more about our belief before jumping to conclusion and Assumptions like most do, lol. God bless

If a religious person said to a room full of lifetime religious people that he or she has seen God and had a one hour conversation with him... don't you think the room full of people would not believe this really happened? But still, the room full of religious people would live their lives believing God exists. But... even they in this realistic world accept the fact that God has never and will never show himself... it just don't happen

Can we agree to disagree? We all have our opinions and reasons for them. There is no need for all this finger pointing and ignorance. I admit my fair share of faults at answering questions and posting questions. But what is the point? We are going to disagree anyway.

This site is awash with Trolls who think it is entertaining to post outrageous questions that are extremely racists and bashing...I have seen a few here in Senior Citizens that attack for no reason! Listen to me..these trolls are not harmless! If they take a dislike to you, they will wreck your account and get you kicked off. When you come across a troll's posting, do NOTHING but block the user from your list....if you do not, they can get into all your answers and questions, report them as violations, and you will be banned! Protect yourself, ban all users you suspect are trolls. Trolls rarely have an account that is more than a few days old, usually has less than 100 points. I have a friend here, had 67,000 points, and has been banned by trolls at work..YA does not give a damn about any of us..they prove this time and time again. They do not care who posts violations, have no staff to oversee the place, everything is done by computers....enough violations and you are banned.

This is mainly to "Johnny Appleseed" who keeps giving me this scripture to try to prove the Trinity.

John 5: 7-8 ~ "For threre are three that bare record in heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit"

This is known as the Johannine comma and is spurious to many Scholars because it was not found in Hundreds of Early Greek Manuscripts but was found in 8 manuscripts later written. This was not an original scripture written by the Apostles. This scripture was written in as a note in brackets and later the brackets were removed making it into a scripture supposedly written by John the Apostle. I could have written more but i will leave you with some links to check out.

It seems to me that dogmatic Christianity, as opposed to those that believe Christianity is a spiritual relationship with God, contradicts all other cultures. Am I correct in that observation?

I believe it is the root of American and before that British imperialism, racism and ethnocentrism. Agree or disagree?

I went to Catholic school until 8th grade, and in our science classes, we were taught the theory of evolution; and in histroy, we studied the (as in over 6000 years ago.)
In religion class, we... didnt study the actual Bible, but the principles of it. We were taught that the days of creation were actually millions of years each.
Okay, I know that many non-Catholic Christians don't beleive in evolution, but why did my Catholic school teach it? Do most Catholics beleive in evolution?
I'm curious.

If you refuse to believe in the correct version of God, then you deserve to burn in Hell forever when you die. It doesn't matter how good of a person you are, you will burn FOREVER along with murderers for DARING to commit the SIN of believing in the wrong version of God.

Christianity has been scientifically PROVEN to be the one true religion years ago, but some people (roughly 66% percent of the entire population of the WORLD) refuse to believe so a loving, PERFECT, FAIR, and LOGICAL God has NO choice. It doesn't matter how good you are, if you believe in the wrong version of God he has NO choice. He is all powerful and he LOVES you, but if you are not a Christian he has NO choice (he is POWERLESS to do anything) but to send you to be tortured for all eternity.

He is a NICE guy. Agree?

Do you accept the scientific evidence and agree with this?

I thought that this section was a place for individuals to learn further about their own beliefs, and ask and learn about the beliefs of others.

Why have you turned it into a finger pointing, bashing and hate of others site?

Just because others choose not to believe the same as you, does that give to us the right to be so hateful and mean?

And for those of you who continue to hate others for being different then yourself, well just remember, “God is watching everything you do!

Think about what you are doing as you answer this question and tell me and us why you do what you do!
