It seems to me that dogmatic Christianity, as opposed to those that believe Christianity is a spiritual relationship with God, contradicts all other cultures. Am I correct in that observation?

I believe it is the root of American and before that British imperialism, racism and ethnocentrism. Agree or disagree?

Nice nickname. I am not quite sure what you mean when you say Dogmatic Christianity. Almost all sects have dogma and the older they are the more they seem to have of it. When you mention Spiritual relationship with God my experience is Baptist and Pentecostal Evangelicals. Mostly just populist movements that rely more on charismatic preachers and cult methods than anything.
If you look at the New American Imperialism you will find it is almost exclusively Fundamentalists driving it. Most of the Religious right voting base is Pentecostals and Baptists.
You will also notice that they think about religion in cut and paste pieces and very often it is verse by verse. The verses often totally separated from the context of the chapter or the book they appear in.
Over half of the ones who claim to be religious in America are unable to name even one of the gospel books.
One tenth of them honestly believe that Joan of Arc was Noah's wife. If you look at what the preachers and the flock who believe they have a personal relationship with God say the xenophobia, racism and religious intolerance is very, very apparent.
Sorry if I sound harsh, but that is what my experience shows me.

I'd say that you are pretty much right, in that dogmatic Christianity does nothing for our image around the world and it rubs a lot of other cultures the wrong way. It makes America a laughingstock in a lot of ways. Other countries have difficulty believing the nonsense that our Fundies export. It makes me cringe, and I wish I could get on a bi g horn and shout, "WE AREN'T ALL THAT WAY!!!"

Its relationship with British imperialism, I suppose there's an argument that could be made there. I don't think their brand of religious nonsense was quite as dogmatic and silly as our Fundies, but perhaps it is just difficult for me to imagine that the British would, at any time in their history, be as thoroughly goofy and shallow and gullible and brainwashed and dumb as our Fundies are. ( I like the British...)

Thought provoking question!

While the bible (and other texts of the worlds major religions all) claim religious exclusivity, most humans are bright enough to take things with a pinch of salt and respect each others beliefs.

More than religion, economic greed is the main reason for imperialism. Take the case of Iraq as an example.

I have difficulty with most all organized religions. They have done more harm than good. Especially Christianity. There are so many contradictions in the Bible I have no idea where to start. If your beliefs put your mind at peace, then that is the most important aspect of all religion.

I personally believe there are so many different beliefs and ideas, and cultures out there that it isn't fair to try to categorize everyone. Not everyone believes the same thing or idea. Everyone takes it for what they want or to promote there lifestyle. I don't think one religion, or one group is right or wrong. Too each there own and it is between them and God when there path cross. Hope this answers your question!

it doesn't contradict other cultures. it contradicts other religions.

oil is at the root of american imperialism. religion is a tool that was used to help the roots grow. like fertilizer.

religion doesn't cause problems. it just makes them worse.

I can't say that you're right or wrong because you haven't fully defined your terms. I don't know what "dogmatic Christianity" is.
