Every time it's time to get dressed every morning. If we don't anywhere in particular he goes straight to time out after I'm done dressing him and then he's fine. Most days we're having to get ready for daycare so I can go to work and we don't really have time for a "time-out". What can I do to get him to stop this? I've tried spankings on his bottom and it is not effective. It seriously doesn't fase him at all to get a spanking.

My daughter who is 18 months has never had a problem drinking milk. All of a sudden my daughter is throwing up after she drinks milk....she doesnt have any symptons of being sick, no fever, very active, and it has been happening for about 2-3 days. she may be sick and I plan on bringing her to the Dr. tommorrow but I was just curious to hear from other parents who have children that are lactose intolerant just in case she is. Thanks.

My son is big for his age, and he can already stand up and jump in his crib... he is also strong enough to pull him self almost up and out of the crib... he is only 10 months old.
When did you move your little one to a bed? Maybe just a mattress on the floor?
Any advice?

he has become totally defiant and it's virtually intolerable. i've taken things away, tried talking to him and put him in his room...and now he just comes out of his room when i do, screaming, crying and kicking. he won't listen to anything and i've resorted to yelling which makes it worse for both of us. he asks for something and then changes his mind when i give it to him and has a cow when everything doesn't go his way. there has been no recent change in his life as well to blame this behavior on. i am at my wits end and i don't know what to do. is the next step just ignoring him completely? NOTHING WORKS.

yes as the subject is telling you how should I encourage my 1½ year old daughter to eat by herself? She has started daycare and the teachers in the daycare won't spoonfeed her or give her food in her mouth. I think thats very good that they don't. It's me who have spoiled her by giving all the food myself rather then letting her try. Now she don't pick anything from her plate to eat. Or she do pick it but it don't go in her mouth..she will just play with it or throw it!
She is in daycare from 8:30 in the morning til 3:30 pm and the only thing she have for the whole day is the breakfast at 7:30 or 8:00 which I feed her:( Then I feed her again when she come home from the daycare!
Please help I feel like a very bad mom! =(

It has been pouring rain here for 2 days and the kids cannot go outside. I have exhausted all of my resources and am after some new things for them to do. Something not too messy though. They and I are sick of video's as well and I'm not fond of them sitting in front of the box all day.
Any suggestions welcome!

My two speculations are heat, (because my son has something similar, more like a diaper rash covering his butt, that comes and goes) or that we recently started potty training. So could it possibly be just the sensitive skin in that area being introduced to standard toilet paper (when not at home which is happening a lot lately)? When I put desitin on it tonight after her bath, she said it hurt. Anyone else potty training a girl have a similar issue in the beginning?

You've outsmarted her in many ways that only make her angrier because she can't get you to fail.
Every time she sees you she's always talking trash.
As she talks trash, you laugh at her because she's only making a dummy out of herself.

My 3 1/2 year old son is potty trained and has no trouble using the potty, but for the last three weeks he has been peeing and pooping in the same corner of his room. I have asked him why he does it, and he says "because I want to". I have talked about where it is okay to potty with him and have warned him and subsequently punished him in several ways ie taken away privelages, time out, etc. but the problem continues. Does anyone have any ideas??? I am at the end of my rope...

I have twin 13 month olds. They used to take 2 2-hour naps a day. Now they are doing a 3 hour morning nap, and barely a one hour afternoon nap. They seem tired in the afternoon but they don't fall asleep very well in their cribs and then they don't sleep for long. Should I be trying to get them on one long nap? I have tried to hold off the morning nap as long as possible but that makes them really cranky. Any ideas?

Everyone knows about the "terrible twos", but our daughter was fairly manageable at two and is much more difficult now at three. I've heard the same from some other parents. What was your experience?

Yesterday, my fiance and I went to a few different people's houses to find daycare for our 6 mos old daughter. After going to dinner with one couple we really liked we had one more stop to go before we made our decision. When we got there, the baby was in a diaper that was sagging badly. The house was a mess, the mom had a black eye and looked like she'd been crying. She apologized for her husband not being able to join us, as something came up. Her two year old was under a table and wouldn't come out and say hi, and just had a pull-up on. I saw a lot of beer bottles by the sink in the kitchen and the woman kept saying things would be all cleaned up by the time I dropped my daughter off, but she really needed the job. Her husband was "hounding" her to help out with bills and they couldn't afford daycare for their own kids so she though watching someone else's would be a good idea. We said we hadn't made our decision yet. Today I called her and let her know that unfortunatly we went

My wife just called and said she walking to a store with my three year old boy. They saw something in the grass that could have looked like some weird detached "bobo". Without prompting my kid starts saying, "mommy, someone lost their bobo. What happened to the bobo?" My says, its not a bobo. "Is it a carrot?" Yeah, sure, its a carrot my wife says. "No i'ts not a carrot. It's a bobo, someone dropped their bobo."

My son is 18 months old and has found a way to crawl out of his crib in the middle of the night. He has been sleeping in his crib throughout the night, by himself for almost a full year now with no problems, then last night I heard him downstairs crying for me and my wife. The crib is not near anything for him to step on to get out, he is just really tall for his age and can put his leg on the top and manuever himself out. I have lowered the crib as far down as it goes and have no idea how to keep him in it. He is not going to sleep with me and my wife, that will only create a bigger problem down the road.
