wow, i know what you are saying. lord have mercy. we have been taking tips from a nanny/ we dont have one though. our sweet boy is now been christened damien. except that he is getting better since we implemented certain steps.
it is ok. to put your son on time out. it takes a ton of practice and patience. no in firm manner. if he throws himself on floor, oh well. pay him no mind. the more attention to put on him when he does these things the worse it is. keep reinforcing the good things he does and try focusing on that. its hard, practice and patience. our boy is catching on and things are settling down. hope it works. dont forget to breathe. if your son gets you so frustrated put him in playyard and give each other a timeout. he cannot cry blood in a safe place for a while until you get your composure back.

RITALIN! No I'm kidding.
He's 2. You have about another year of this to look forward to. The Terrible Two's and they ARE terrible. Just be consistent. Punish him if he does wrong, praise him when he does right. And as someone told me when I asked a similar question about my 3 year old step daughter--Contrary to popular belief, spanking is legal, and when done consistently, effective.

The good news is.. it doesn't last forever, they do grow out of it.. the not so good news is, it took my daughter about a year to a year and half to grow out of it, the terrible twos is not what your about to go through, its more like hell, just remember he's only two and the world is this huge and wonderful mysterious place, he's learning what he can get away with and learning what pushes your buttons, be firm but loving, good luck to you!

Make sure your voice is loud enough for him to hear you say, "NO!" and give him a little smack on the behind. He will get the message.
